Understanding the action potential of the ventricular muscle and SA node is crucial for grasping cardiac physiology. In this lecture, I explain:
✅ The phases of ventricular and SA nodal action potential and their ionic basis
✅ The role of SA node action potential in heart rhythm
✅ The differences between ventricular and SA nodal action potential
✅ The importance of ion channels (Na+, K+, Ca2+) in cardiac electrophysiology
This video is designed for medical, dental, nursing, and health science students preparing for exams and clinical practice. Whether you're studying for the USMLE, PLAB, MBBS, BMLS, nursing or other exams, this comprehensive lecture will help you understand cardiac action potentials.

Dive into the intricacies of systemic vascular resistance in this comprehensive lecture designed for medical, nursing, dental, and health science students. We explore the three primary factors influencing vascular resistance: vessel length, blood viscosity, and vessel radius, as outlined by Poiseuille's Law. Understand the significance of the fourth power law and its impact on blood flow dynamics. Additionally, we discuss the relationship between vascular resistance, Ohm's Law, and blood pressure regulation, highlighting the roles of vasodilators and vasoconstrictors. Enhance your grasp of human physiology with these detailed mechanisms governing vascular resistance.

Starling Forces Acting on a Systemic Blood Capillary and the Causes of Edema
https://youtu.be/Y9LOgA4inn0?si=lJv5PrnJBDgPeBsP

In this lecture, we will explore Starling forces, the key physiological principles that regulate fluid movement across systemic blood capillaries. We will break down the four main forces:
✅ Capillary Hydrostatic Pressure (Pc), also called Blood Hydrostatic pressure (BHP)
✅ Interstitial Hydrostatic Pressure (Pi), also called intestinal fluid Hydrostatic Pressure (IFHP)
✅ Capillary Oncotic Pressure (πc), also called Blood Colloidal Osmotic Pressure (BCOP)
✅ Interstitial Oncotic Pressure (πi), also called intestinal fluid Osmotic Pressure (IFOP)
We will also discuss how imbalances in these forces lead to edema, a condition characterized by excessive fluid accumulation in tissues. This lecture is essential for students of physiology, medicine, nursing, and allied health sciences.
