The University of Lahore (UOL) was founded in 1999 by Mr. Raoof under the auspices of the Ibadat Education Trust and was granted degree awarding status by the Government of Punjab in October 2002. It has created a name for itself in the field of higher education and is regarded as one of the premier private sector universities in Pakistan with diverse disciplines ranging from Medicine and Engineering to Creative Arts and Social Sciences, having a student body of 35,000+ students from 21 nationalities, 60,000+ alumni, 11 faculties, 45+ departments, and 200+ degree programs. The undergraduate, graduate, and research programs offered by UOL are recognized by the HEC and respective regulatory bodies of Pakistan. The University also has fully accredited programs in Architecture, IT, Law, Nursing, Engineering, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, and Business from the Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP), Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) and National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), respectively. The Higher Education Commission has placed UOL in its highest "W" category. UOL has strong connections with universities abroad in the USA, UK, Germany, Switzerland, China, Malaysia, Turkey, Sudan, Cyprus, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, The Gambia, Azerbaijan, and many others. In addition, it has established ties with industry, which are of paramount importance for any higher education institution. The University has invested in a number of technology park projects, including Media Technology Park, The Creative Village – a premier facility for professional media content, and Agri-Biotechnology Park, to support the growth and progressive development of students and the country as a whole. UOL values research, as evidenced by the number of research grants available to various departments within the university and its investments into dedicated research projects and facilities, for instance, CRIMM (Center for Research in Molecular Medicine), etc. The University continues to be at the forefront and continually strives to produce excellent graduates who are versatile and impactful in a healthy and progressive society.
