Punjab Health Foundation expresses serious concern over the circulation of rumors and misleading news being spread on media by certain individuals regarding the disbursement of monthly stipends to trainees from various fields of medicine. These rumors are causing unnecessary confusion among trainees.

The Foundation strongly refutes all such rumors and clarifies that, following meetings between authorized officials and representatives of the trainees, it has been decided—based on the feedback from these representatives—that all relevant teaching/training institutions will submit the attendance records of their trainees from the 15th of each month to the 14th of the following month (one month’s attendance) on the Punjab Health Foundation stipend portal by the 20th of the current month. This process ensures that stipends can be transferred to the trainees’ bank accounts by the 1st of each month.

To date, the Foundation has disbursed stipends totaling over Rs. 18 billion to 280,000 trainee doctors, nurses, and lady health visitors.

The Honourable Minister for Health Punjab, Mr Khawaja Salman Rafique, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the International Nurses Day 2025 ceremony held at Allama Iqbal Medical College. He was joined by the worthy Managing Director of Punjab Health Foundation, Mr Jawad Akram (PAS).

The event, organised by the Principal of the College of Nursing, AIMC, featured a commemorative shield distribution and address by the chief guests to honour the contributions of nurses.

In his keynote speech, Mr Khawaja Salman Rafique lauded the nursing profession as the backbone of the healthcare system and paid tribute to the dedication and service of nurses across the province.

The ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Health, Dr Waheed Asghar; Principal AIMC, Professor Tayabba Waseem; Medical Superintendent of Jinnah Hospital, Dr Syed Mohsin Ali Shah; Principal, College of Nursing, Dr Farzana; Director General Nursing, Ms Tahira sagheer; along with a distinguished gathering of healthcare professionals, senior management of PHF and members of the nursing community.

In line with the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab’s vision to promote the rich and vibrant culture of the province, Punjab Cultural Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Punjab Health Foundation. The event aimed to highlight the pride we take in our heritage and to revive and preserve our cherished traditions.

On this occasion, Managing Director Mr. Jawad Akram, accompanied by the PHF team, visited the Bhagat Singh Gallery as part of the day's activities. Mr. Akram emphasized the significance of celebrating Punjab Cultural Day, stating that it serves as a powerful reminder of our roots and an important means of keeping the younger generation connected to their cultural heritage.
