With heavy heart I share the news about my Uncle. Dr M Akhtar Khan, Kemcolian 1958, who breathed his last today in New Jesy, USA. He was younger to my late father Dr M Aslam Khan, Kemcolian 1956.

Dr M Akhter Khan worked for decades as Pathologist in New Jesy since 1960. He was one of those kemolians whose hard work, honest and devoted services in USA made Americans believe that kemcolians are well trained , intelligent, competent and dutiful doctors. He along with his peer Kemcolians paved the way of smooth acceptance of future generations of kemcolians in USA.

Dr M Akhtar Khan did his house job with Prof Pirzada in EMW, Prof Wasti in Paeds and Prof Riaz a Qadeer in General Surgery in NSW and Casualty. Col Elahi Baksh was the Principal of KE at that time. I use to visit him every year and he used to cherish great memories of his great teachers in most respectful manners even in his 80s.

Today is the proud moment for Parents and teachers of Dr Sidrah Latif . She has been awarded with FRCOphth at Royal College of Ophthalmologists London. Her Late father must be feeling proud in heaven with her distinguished and highly decorated academic career. Same is true for her mother, teachers, including myself who always feel pride in sharing her successes in academics and profession at large, and her Alma mater King Edward Medical University/ Mayo hospital/Eye Unit 3.



I know Dr Sidrah since her 2nd year at King Edward Medical University in year 2011, the first encounter as a debater on woman’s day GC University where I went as Chief guest of the event in the capacity of VC KE. She won the competition and made me realize that this student is not an ordinary student. The time proved my prediction .

Her brilliant academic career has imprints in the minds of teachers who taught her during her years at KE and saw her passing out as best graduate of the University in year 2014. I always have the honor to supervise her during her Ophthalmology residency and felt proud seeing her passing her Post graduate examinations of FCPS(Pakistan), FICO and MRCS Edinburgh and FRCOPhth London in first attempts.

Well done Dr Sidrah Latif. You always make us feel proud of you. God bless you and give you the courage and opportunities to impart teaching and training to youngsters and let their parents , teachers and Alma Mater feel proud of them like you did.

I share with heavy heart that Prof Muhammad Munir Ul Haq Sb, Ex Head of dept of Ophthalmology King Edward Medical College/ Mayo Hosp, has left us by the will of God. He was teacher of the teachers and mentor of hundreds of us.
Pls pray that his soul rests in eternal peace.

Met my chacha, Dr M Akhtar Khan,in New jersey, USA, today. A KE graduate of 1958. Worked in New jersey for decades as Pathologist. Shared with me great memories of KE of his time.

My father, Dr M Aslam Khan, KE graduate of 1956 and my chacha, Dr M Akhtar Khan, KE graduate of 1958, both did their house job with Prof Pirzada in EMW, Prof Wasti in Paeds and General Surgery in NSW and Casualty with Prof Riaz a Qadeer. Col Elahi Baksh was the Principal of KE at that time. Described great respectful memories of his teachers.
