Dear friends,

Covid is back with vengeance !!!!! There has been a Covid surge in past 2 weeks and hospital ICU'S are filling up again like few months back. Its sad that media is not showing it. Unfortunately this time people are becoming unwell very quickly and many are young patients People are putting it to cough and flu due to weather change and not getting tested till they get very unwell. I am a Consultant Physician in Chughtai Lab and can confirm that cases are increasing at very rapid pace. We are getting a lot of positive patients and daily we see lots of CT scans with severe pneumonia due to covid. As public have stopped following precautions and media is not actively showing anything , I fear massive damage. I did one survey on a doctors only group where doctors from all across Pakistan participated and the comments were alarming. Cases increasing rapidly in all cities and people dying. I request you all to understand Corona has not gone yet. Please please please follow these precautions.

- Stop going out unnecessarily
- Must must wear mask ALL TIME !!
- Please mantain 6ft distance from others .
- Regular hand washing/sanitizing
- Avoid going to gatherings,resturaunts, busy places
- At work people often don't follow SOP's and cafeterias are the most dangerous places as no one wear mask and no social distancing. Kindly avoid such places at least till this surge is over.
- Avoid lifts and public tranport
- If anyone coming from abroad in your friends and family please advice them to quarantine for first 10days (in west 2 week quarantine is mandatory but don't know why our government not making this compulsory)
- Advice your elders to stay home as much as possible
- Make sure schools following SOP's strictly.
- If you develop any cold/flu /sorethroat or fever plz do get tested for covid and try to isolate if possible or at least stay at safe distance from others till tested and have your masks on so as not to expose others.
