Construction update: Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Karachi, a dream turning into reality

Dr. Aasim Yusuf, CMO of Shaukat Khanum Hospitals, recently visited our Karachi hospital site, on track to open in December 2026!

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a PET-CT scanning system, MRI, chemotherapy bays, and an ICU, it will provide world-class cancer care. Similar to our hospitals in Lahore and Peshawar, over 75% of patients in Karachi will also receive treatment free of charge.

Dr. Yusuf says, “At Shaukat Khanum, we believe every patient deserves access to quality cancer diagnosis and treatment, regardless of their ability to pay.”

"My special moment was with a little boy named Hadi. One day he said to me, "Kashaf Aani, I waited for you the whole day, and I also like your drawings a lot". When it was time for me to go, He asked me with hope in his eyes and said, "Will you come tomorrow. Please do come."

We developed a beautiful bond. Even though I no longer have a duty in the IPD section, his mother shared how deeply he misses me. She told me how Hadi constantly asks, "When will Kashaf Aani come? We have to do colouring together."

The children's resilience here reshaped my own perspective, teaching me that true strength blooms not in the absence of pain. Their unwavering hope continues to inspire my journey forward.
