Blood Donation Camp

A blood donation camp was successfully organized at a real estate company (Zameen.com), Gulberg, Lahore on 8 July, 2025. The camp collected a total of 24 blood units, which will contribute to supporting Thalassemic patients in need of transfusions.

The event highlights the generosity and community spirit of the donors who participated. The collected blood units will be utilized to help thalassemia patients and other individuals requiring blood transfusions.

Mr. Umair @ Zameen.com graced the camp with his presence. On the behalf of PRCS Punjab, Mr Umair conferred certificates of appreciation upon blood donors. He also appreciated PRCS Punjab for the free blood transfusion to Thalassemic patients. He promised that a blood camp further will be organized at sales office of zameen.com.

RFL Needs Assessment – Gujrat

In order to assess and identify the need for Restoring Family Links (RFL) services, PRCS Punjab conducted a comprehensive RFL Needs Assessment at DHDC, DHQ Hospital Gujrat

Key activities included:

🔺Orientation on RFL services and need assessment tools
🔺11 need assessment forms collected from families
🔺 6 new tracing requests received
🔺 Follow-up meetings with 5 existing RFL cases
🔺 Field teams finalized for upcoming community visits.

This assessment marks a vital step in expanding Restoring Family Links services in District Gujrat, ensuring no one feels forgotten, and every effort is made to restore connection, hope, and dignity.

Climate Change Awareness Session – PRCS Youth Boot Camp 2025

On July 4, 2025, the Youth & Volunteer Department, PRCS Punjab Branch, conducted an engaging session on Climate Change, led by Ms. Hafiza Asma, Professional Volunteer at PRCS, during the Youth Development Boot Camp 2025.

43 active volunteers (11 males, 32 females) explored the causes and history of climate change, its status as a global crisis, unequal responsibilities among nations, shared consequences, and the importance of reducing carbon footprints and adopting green habits.

Awareness Session on Thalassemia and Blood Donation Camps - PRCS Youth Development Boot Camp

On July 3, an awareness session on Thalassemia and Blood Donation Camps was successfully organized at Pakistan Red Crescent Punjab Branch, led by medical officer Dr Javad Habib Rana . The session engaged 20 passionate volunteers from the Youth Development Boot Camp 2025.

The session featured interactive discussions,highlight the importance of understanding biological compositions and raise awareness among youth to prevent thalassemia and encourage them to donate blood. Volunteers received information about the basic knowledge about thalassemia and how we can treat it effectively.

Volunteers shared positive feedback, appreciating the importance of the awareness of thalassemia. The session concluded with a strong commitment to apply this knowledge in the field, contributing to future humanitarian efforts.

On July 2, 2025 the Y&V Department, PRCS Punjab Branch, held an insightful session on Thalassemia, led by Dr. Javied Habib Rana, during the Youth Development Boot Camp, 2025.

Restoring Family Links (RFL) Session - PRCS Youth Development Boot Camp 2025

On July 1, 2025, at Lady Emerson Hall, PHQ Punjab, Qazi Amjad Ali led an impactfulsession on Restoring Family Links (RFL), organized by the Youth & Volunteer Dept. of PRCS Punjab Branch.

Digital Learning & Capacity Building – PRCS Youth Development Boot Camp 2025

As part of the ongoing Youth Development Boot Camp 2025, the Youth & Volunteer Department, PRCS Punjab Branch conducted an interactive session focused on the V-Community App and the IFRC Learning Platform, on June 23, 2025. A total of 32 participants actively took part in the session.

Facilitated by Mudassar Habib Jami, Youth & Volunteer Officer Punjab, the session guided volunteers in creating their accounts on the V-Community mobile app and registering on the IFRC Learning Platform. Participants were introduced to a range of free online courses covering humanitarian values, disaster response, youth engagement, and more.

They were encouraged to make the most of these digital learning tools to improve their understanding, gain certifications, and strengthen their capacity as volunteers committed to humanitarian service.

This session marked a key milestone in building a digitally skilled and informed volunteer force.

Content Creation Session | Youth Development Boot Camp 2025

On June 19, 2025, under the ongoing Youth Development Boot Camp 2025, the Youth & Volunteer Department of PRCS Punjab organized an interactive session on Content Creation, aimed at enhancing the digital communication skills of young volunteers.

The session was jointly facilitated by Mudassar Habib Jami (Y&V Officer Punjab) and Hafiza Asma (Professional Volunteer PRCS, Punjab Branch). It covered key aspects of impactful content creation, including the importance of visual storytelling, platform-specific strategies, and effective message delivery.

Participants received a hands-on introduction to creative tools such as Canva, CapCut, and InShot by Hafiza Asma, who also helped the volunteers in making posters of their own using their learned knowledge from the session. While the InShot segment was delivered by Mudassar Habib Jami, guiding participants on basic video editing techniques suitable for humanitarian content.

In a dynamic group activity, volunteers practiced these tools by designing posters on a wide range of social and humanitarian themes.

The session not only empowered volunteers with practical design skills but also encouraged them to use digital media as a tool for advocacy, awareness, and humanitarian outreach.

Session on Assesment and Beneficiaries Identification and Registration During Disaster– PRCS Youth Development Boot Camp 2025

As part of ongoing Youth Development Boot Camp 2025, the Youth & Volunteer Department, PRCS Punjab Branch conducted a comprehensive session on Assessment and Beneficiary Identification, and Registration During Disaster on June 18, 2025, at Lady Emerson Hall, PHQ Punjab Branch. A total of 37 participants (9 males and 28 females) took part in the session.

Facilitated by Mudassar Habib Jami, Y&V Officer Punjab, the session focused on how emergency needs assessments are conducted to identify priorities such as health, food, and shelter. Volunteers learned about the phases of Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis—general and detailed—including initial, rapid, and in-depth assessments. Various information-gathering techniques such as observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and questionnaires were discussed, along with the step-by-step process: information collection, analysis, and determining response options.

Assistant Y&V Officer, Zeeshan Asfaq shared real-life challenges PRCS has encountered during assessments and distributions, offering participants a grounded understanding of field realities. The session also covered types of distribution—direct, indirect, and donor-based—and introduced volunteers to essential tools like Open Data Kit (ODK), Mega V, and Red Rose.

To solidify their understanding, participants took part in a mock distribution drill where they role-played as community members, volunteers, and field staff, applying their knowledge in a simulated emergency relief scenario.
At the end Acting Secretary, PRCS Punjab, Rao Zaka ur Rehman, visited the session to encourage and appreciate the efforts of Boot Camp 2025 and the volunteers. He also emphasized that volunteers are the backbone of PRCS, and thus play important role in disaster management and providing help to community.

Establishment of Dispensary at Union Council Dharnul, Tehsil Fateh Jhang, District Attock

On the request of the District Red Crescent Branch Attock, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Punjab Headquarters, Lahore, has established a free dispensary in the remote area of Union Council Dharnul, Tehsil Fateh Jhang, District Attock. Qualified medical staff, including an MBBS doctor and a dispenser, have been appointed to provide essential healthcare services to the underprivileged families of the surrounding villages.

An inauguration ceremony was organized to mark the occasion. The Chief Guest, Sardar Faizan Haider Khan, formally inaugurated the dispensary and also generously provided the premises on a rent-free basis.

Dr. Saleem Raza Raja, Member of the Managing Committee (MC), also attended the ceremony as the Guest of Honour.

A large number of local residents were present and expressed their appreciation for the commendable efforts of PRCS Punjab Headquarters in improving healthcare access in the area.
