:Young Hearts ,On this International Youth Day - will you choose the prison you know, or the freedom you've yet to discover?
:
Beyond Shame — A Poem for the Youth
When dreams are measured in gold and steel,
And no one whispers, you are enough,
The soul grows quiet, losing its zeal,
While the mind, in silence, seeks softer stuff.
It searches for exits in drugs and pills,
For numbness wrapped in fleeting delight,
Not knowing the roots of these aching hills
Were planted in childhood’s starless night.
The youth’s road is rugged, shadow and flame,
A dance with demons in unlit rooms—
But you have the power to break this prison
By naming its bars, by seeing its gloom.
For beyond the heavy cloak of shame,
A seed of hope, defiant, blooms.
We, who have stumbled and learned to stand,
Can gift our stories, our battle cries—
Proof that even with trembling hands,
One can lift their gaze to gentler skies.
So here’s to the fighters with weary eyes,
Your worth is more than what you own.
Beyond all wounds, your spirit flies—
And the world is brighter when you’ve grown.
