Micro-Endoscopic discectomy!!!
In this procedure for disc herniation, 1.2 cm to 1.8 cm (depending on the case) incision is given. Then a tube (tubular retractor system) is inserted and the herniated disc is removed. The advantage of this procedure is that we don't need to cut the muscles instead we split it open and post operatively the patient has minimal backache as compared to microscopic disc surgery.

This patient presented to us with debilitating hemifacial spasm and was subjected to microvascular decompression.Post-operatively hemifacial spasm successfully resolved with no added neurological deficit. She was discharged on the third postoperative day.

This patient presented to us with history of visual loss. Initially he was unable to see on sides later on he became totally blind from one eye. On MRI there was a huge pituitary tumor which was subjected to complete excision through endoscopic endonasal trans-sphenoidal approach. His vision post operatively improved and patient was discharged on the third post operative day with no added neurological deficit !!!

This patient , Rana Afzal, from Rahim yar Khan lawyer by profession presented to us with walking difficulty . After taking a few steps his left leg used to become heavy and the left foot got numb and heavy unable to walk further. On mri there was L4 L5 stenosis meaning there was compression on nerve roots. He travelled all the way from Rahim yar Khan to Lahore . Couple of days back he was operated at Saira memorial hospital model town Lahore. Using a microscope , laminectomy was performed and the patient walked back home the next day without any difficulty !!!! Surgery went smoothly without any complications !!!!

ایم آر آئی دیکھ کر ڈسک نکالنے کا فیصلہ نہیں کیا جاسکتا ۔ جیسا کہ فیصل آباد سے تعلق رکھنے والے اس مریض کو شیٹیکا کا مسئلہ تھا لیکن ایم آر آئی میں ایل 4 ایل 5 اور ایس 1 دونوں ڈسک سلپ تھیں ۔ اب مریض کا معائنہ کرنے پر پتہ چلا کہ درد صرف ایل 5 ایس 1 ڈسک کی وجہ سے ہے جس کا گزشتہ دنوں مائیکروسکوپ کے ذریعے کامیاب آپریشن کیا گیا الحمدللہ رب العالمین اور آپریشن کے بعد مریض خود چل کر گھر گیا ماشاءاللہ بےشک شفاء دینے والی ذات صرف اللہ کی ہے!!!!
