World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is celebrated annually from August 1 to 7. It's a global campaign to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for mothers, babies, and society. The theme for WBW 2024 is "Clsing the Gaps: Support Breastfeeding for All". WBW is an opportunity to promote a culture of breastfeeding and provide support to mothers who choose to breastfeed. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends breastfeeding initiation in 1st hour of delivery, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, and continued breastfeeding along with solid foods up to two years or beyond.
