Clinical Summary:
This is a case involving migration of an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) from its original position within the uterine cavity into the urinary bladder. The migrated IUCD acted as a nidus for stone formation, resulting in the development of a vesical calculus around the device.
The patient presented with urinary symptoms suggestive of a bladder stone, such as dysuria, frequency, and suprapubic discomfort. Imaging studies confirmed the presence of a bladder calculus with a visible foreign body suggestive of a migrated IUCD.
The patient underwent cystolitholapaxy, during which the bladder stone was fragmented and removed. The embedded IUCD was successfully retrieved during the procedure. The patient tolerated the procedure well and is recovering without complications.
