A man in his 40s from India developed 35 kidney stones after consuming around 3 liters of Coca-Cola each day for several years, ultimately requiring surgery to remove them. Doctors traced the cause to high levels of sugar and phosphoric acid in the soda, which can disrupt the body’s mineral balance and promote calcium oxalate buildup—a common source of kidney stones.

This case underscores the serious health risks tied to chronic soft drink consumption, especially in large quantities. Regular intake of sugary sodas can lead to dehydration, metabolic disturbances, and in extreme cases, painful and costly medical outcomes like surgery.
