Identifying and Fixing Nutrient Deficiencies in Plants
Healthy plants need essential nutrients to grow. If a plant lacks any, it will show visible signs. Here’s how to identify and fix common deficiencies:
🛑 Common Nutrient Deficiencies & Fixes
1️⃣ Nitrogen (N) Deficiency
✔ Yellowing lower leaves, weak stems, stunted growth
💡 Add compost, manure, or fish emulsion
2️⃣ Phosphorus (P) Deficiency
✔ Dark green/purple leaves, poor roots, delayed flowering
💡 Use bone meal, rock phosphate
3️⃣ Potassium (K) Deficiency
✔ Brown leaf edges, curling leaves, weak stems
💡 Apply wood ash, banana peels
4️⃣ Calcium (Ca) Deficiency
✔ Deformed new leaves, root rot, blossom-end rot
💡 Add eggshells, gypsum, lime
5️⃣ Magnesium (Mg) Deficiency
✔ Yellowing between veins, curling leaves
💡 Use Epsom salt, dolomite lime
