has recently updated its list for , including only institutions from the and the .
It is important to clarify that the exclusion of universities from , Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan is not due to their failure to meet PMDC’s criteria. Rather, it appears that PMDC has once again taken steps that directly disrupt the professional journey and future of Pakistani Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs).
This decision seems to be another attempt to delay the progress of FMGs by forcing them to pass the NRE (National Registration Examination) before they can even begin their house jobs — a move that wastes valuable time and energy for aspiring doctors.
In previous policies, PMDC allowed FMGs to obtain provisional licenses and complete their house jobs while preparing for the permanent license exam. That system not only saved time but also supported young doctors in transitioning smoothly into the healthcare system.
Unfortunately, PMDC appears to be repeating its old patterns, disregarding the struggles and contributions of thousands of Pakistani FMGs who have worked tirelessly to serve their nation.
