The OA (Osteoarthritis) has four stages, and we all go through them like a train passing through stations.
The important thing for you is to slow its progression from one stage to another, by God’s grace.
People at risk of developing OA:
Those with obesity
Those who have experienced trauma
A family history (genetics)
Certain occupations
More common in females than males
---
✅ Stage 1: The Acute Stage
The patient complains of pain, but there’s nothing visible on X-rays.
For example, a 45-year-old patient might have pain with no findings in imaging.
---
✅ Grade 1
The joint space starts narrowing.
You'll notice a normal lateral meniscus and normal joint space, but the medial side starts to narrow.
---
✅ Grade 2
The joint space narrowing becomes more evident.
---
✅ Grade 3
Osteophytes and cysts begin to form.
---
✅ Grade 4
This stage requires a total knee replacements
