🎾 Tennis Elbow Special Tests: Diagnosing Lateral Epicondylitis 🩺

If you or your patients are experiencing lateral elbow pain, it could be Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) — a common overuse injury affecting the extensor tendons of the forearm.

🔍 Here are a few special tests clinicians use to help confirm the diagnosis:

Cozen’s Test

✋ The patient makes a fist, extends the wrist against resistance.

❌ Pain at the lateral epicondyle = Positive sign.

Mill’s Test

💪 Passive stretch: wrist flexion, elbow extension, forearm pronated.

❌ Pain over lateral epicondyle = Positive.

Maudsley’s Test

🖐️ Resist extension of the 3rd digit (middle finger).

❌ Pain at lateral epicondyle = Suggestive of extensor digitorum involvement.
