A complex proximal femur fracture is a type of hip fracture that occurs at the upper end of the thighbone (femur) near the hip joint. Complex proximal femur fractures often result from high-energy trauma, such as car accidents, falls from a height, or osteoporotic fractures. Treatment options may include surgical intervention, such as internal fixation with plates, screws, or nails, or replacement of the hip joint with an artificial prosthesis. Proper management is important to minimize complications and ensure a good outcome.
