A 6yr old child presented with blood in stool for last 1 year, re**al polyp was diagnosed.

What is re**al polyp?

A re**al polyp is a growth that occurs on the inner lining of the re**um, which is the last part of the large intestine. Polyps are usually benign (non-cancerous) and can vary in size, shape, and number.

In children, re**al polyps are relatively rare and typically occur in kids under the age of 10. They can cause symptoms such as:

- Re**al bleeding (blood in the stool)
- Painful bowel movements
- Abdominal pain
- Constipation or diarrhea

There are different types of re**al polyps, including:

1. Juvenile polyps: These are the most common type of re**al polyp in children. They are usually solitary and can be removed easily.
2. Inflammatory polyps: These occur in response to inflammation or irritation in the re**um.
3. Hamartomatous polyps: These are rare and can be associated with genetic syndromes.

If a re**al polyp is suspected, a pediatric surgeon or a pediatric gastroenterologist may perform a procedure called a sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy to visualize the re**um and remove the polyp.

Treatment usually involves removing the polyp, and in some cases, monitoring for any potential complications or recurrence.

What is cleft lip and Palate?

when a baby grows inside its mommy's tummy, sometimes its mouth doesn't grow together correctly. This makes a small hole in the roof of the mouth, called a cleft palate. It can make eating and talking a little harder, but don't worry, doctors can help fix it!
