Congratulations to Dr. Sarwat Jahan on Successful PhD Defense !
Khyber Medical University (KMU) is proud to announce that Dr. Sarwat Jahan, Associate Professor at Northwest School of Medicine, has successfully defended her PhD thesis at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), KMU. Her thesis, titled "Neuroprotective Mechanism of Emodin in an MPTP-induced Mouse Model of Parkinson Disease; Focus on Expression of Nrf2 & its downstream targets," marks a significant milestone in her academic journey.
Under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Ikram, Assistant Professor at IPS, KMU, Dr. Jahan's research has been evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts, including Dr. Fawad Ali Shah (King Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia) as the external examiner, Dr. Muhammad Ikram (Comsats University, Abbottabad) as the evaluator, and Dr. Haji Bahadur (IPS, KMU) as the internal examiner.
Notably, Dr. Jahan's achievement is remarkable for completing her PhD in just four years and publishing her research in Molecular Neurobiology, a Q1 journal with an impact factor of 5. This accomplishment is a testament to her dedication and the unwavering support of her supervisor.
Professor Dr. Sami Siraj, Director of IPS, and Professor Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Vice Chancellor of KMU, have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sarwat Jahan for her outstanding achievement. Dr. Zia Ul Haq emphasized that Dr. Jahan's research will significantly contribute to understanding Parkinson's disease pathophysiology and therapeutic potentials.
