Updates ⚠️

A meeting was held today at KMU regarding Paper G, which was attended by DMEs from various colleges. Surprisingly, not a single student was invited to this meeting. During the discussion, the DMEs supported KMU’s stance and declared that the paper was correct, stating that it was entirely within the course outline, with no MCQs taken from outside the syllabus. They also claimed that the blueprints were properly followed.

We, the students of 3rd year, do not accept this meeting or its conclusions..

Our demands are;

1. The paper must be presented openly in front of all students so that we can point out the out-of-course MCQs and demonstrate how the learning objectives and blueprints were violated.

2. The paper was excessively lengthy and could not reasonably be completed within two hours. KMU must clarify how they consider this paper to be solvable within the standard time.

3. In colleges where the server went down, KMU must explain how the exam can be considered valid when students had to attempt the paper twice.

4. KMU must disclose the sources of these questions, specifically which books and resources were used, because several questions do not appear in any standard textbook.

5. These issues occur every year. Students are repeatedly put through unnecessary stress, and these violations keep happening without any solid, long-term solution being implemented.

The demands of the students must be accepted. Otherwise, KMU should be prepared for the consequences.

Subject: Request for Reconsideration of Current Professional Examination Structure

Respected Sir,

With utmost respect, I, on behalf of the students, wish to draw your kind attention to several serious concerns regarding the ongoing professional examination conducted under Khyber Medical University.

It has been observed that multiple aspects of the examination do not align with the approved syllabus, recommended textbooks, KMU Learning Objectives (LOs), or standard assessment guidelines. The major issues are as follows:

1. Non-adherence to the approved blueprint:
The examination papers did not follow the prescribed blueprint, resulting in an imbalanced distribution of topics. Some subjects were over-represented while others were entirely omitted, compromising the fairness of the assessment.

2. MCQs not from recommended 3rd-year textbooks / out of curriculum:
A large number of questions did not originate from any standard 3rd-year MBBS textbooks. Many were unrelated to the taught syllabus, while several belonged to previous or future blocks not yet covered, placing students at a clear disadvantage.

3. Not aligned with KMU LOs:
Multiple questions were not in accordance with the KMU-approved Learning Objectives for 3rd year, raising concerns regarding the academic validity of the exam.

4. Unusually lengthy and confusing MCQs — likely AI-generated:
Many MCQs had excessively long stems and unusually complex, verbose options—patterns not typically seen in human-created university exam questions. Such structure strongly suggests that several items may have been generated using AI tools, which is not consistent with KMU’s assessment standards.

5. Incorrectly constructed MCQs (double correct / no correct options):
Several questions contained more than one correct option, while some had no correct option at all. These flawed MCQs further compromised the reliability, clarity, and fairness of the exa

*Please! This is truly alarming — KMU’s new exam system feels completely unfair.*

There are *numerous serious issues* that can no longer be ignored.

- In both *Block D and E*, many *MCQs were out of syllabus*, and several had *two correct options* or even *incorrect/unclear statements*.
- In today’s *Block E paper*, *Biochemistry felt like it was from Block D*, *Physiology seemed taken from Block F*, and *Histology covered 1st-year MBBS topics* — clearly *blueprints were not followed*.
- One of the *biggest concerns* is the use of *two different exam circuits*. Circuit 2 was significantly harder than Circuit 1 today, which creates *inequality and affects student merit*.
- Another frustrating issue was *technical malfunction* — I had *9 minutes left* with *2 MCQs remaining*, but the system *automatically submitted my paper* without any warning. I couldn’t even realize what went wrong.

This is not just about one exam. These problems are becoming *recurring and damaging*, especially for *a batch that has already been through enough*. We are not asking for an easy paper, but for a *fair, syllabus-based, and well-structured exam* process.
*These issues must be acknowledged and compensated accordingly.*
We hope KMU will take this seriously and *ensure justice* for the students.

سلام۔
میں ویمن میڈیکل کالج ایبٹ آباد سے ہوں۔ آج سیکنڈ ایئر ایم بی بی ایس کا پیپر تھا۔ KMU کا وقت صبح 9 بجے سے 11 بجے تک مقرر تھا۔ جو ایگزامینرز آئے تھے وہ اپنا سسٹم چلانا ہی نہیں جانتے تھے — یعنی وہ پاس ورڈ اور سیکرٹ کوڈ جو KMU سے دیے جاتے ہیں، ڈالنا تک نہیں آ رہا تھا۔

ہم انتظار کر رہے تھے، تقریباً 9:40 پر ایگزامینر نے ہمیں پاس ورڈ اور سیکرٹ کوڈ دیا اور کہا کہ آپ لوگوں کا وقت KMU کے مطابق ایکسٹینڈ ہوگا، دو گھنٹے پورے ملیں گے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ انہوں نے KMU کو کال کی ہے اور آپ کو آخر میں 40 منٹ اضافی ملیں گے۔

البتہ 10:50 پر جب پیپر چلایا گیا تو ایگزامینر نے کہا کہ آپ سب کے پاس بس 10 منٹ ہیں اور کوئی ٹائم ایکسٹینشن نہیں ہوگی — اور کہا فوراً SUBMIT کر دیں۔ ہم نے جلدی میں پیپر مکمل کیا اور تقریباً 20 تا 30 ایم سی کیوز بغیر سوچے سمجھے لگا دیے۔

پانچ منٹ بعد جب ہم نے پیپر سبمٹ کیا تو ایگزامینر باہر جا کر آواز دینے لگا کہ اب KMU کی طرف سے ٹائم ایکسٹینڈ کر دیا گیا ہے لیکن آپ لوگوں نے سبمٹ کر دیا ہے اس لیے اب کچھ نہیں ہو سکتا۔ شروع میں وہی ایگزامینر خود کہہ رہا تھا کہ آپ لوگوں کو 40 منٹ ایکسٹرا ملیں گے، پھر اچانک کہا کہ کوئی ایکسٹینشن نہیں۔ بعد میں باہر جا کر بولا کہ KMU نے 40 منٹ دے دیے — اس سے ہمیں شک ہوا کہ یہ ایگزامینر واقعی KMU سے آیا تھا یا کوئی اور شخص تھا۔

ساتھ میں ایک آئی ٹی والا بھی آیا تھا جو سیکرٹ کوڈ ڈالنا بھی صحیح طرح نہیں جانتا تھا۔ ہم تین تین مہینے سے گھر نہیں جاتے، نیند پوری نہیں ہوتی، دن رات پڑھتے رہتے ہیں — اور اوپر سے KMU ایسے ایگزامینرز بھیج دیتا ہے جنہیں امتحان لینے کا صحیح طریقہ تک معلوم نہیں ہوتا۔

آخری بات یہ ہے کہ ہمارے کالج میں امتحانی سینٹر بہت اچھے طریقے سے بنے ہوئے ہیں؛ اندرونی بلاک بھی کمپیوٹر بیسڈ ہے۔ جب ہماری پرنسپل آئیں تو ایگزامینر اوپر سے جھوٹ بول رہا تھا، بدتمیزی کر رہا تھا اور کہہ رہا تھا کہ آپ لوگوں نے کبھی امتحان ہی نہیں دیا۔ خود ایگزامینر کو سسٹم چلانے کی سمجھ نہیں تھی۔
