پاکستان میں جینیاتی امراض کیوں بڑھ رہے ہیں؟

پاکستان میں بچوں میں جینیاتی یا موروثی امراض میں تیزی سے اضافہ دیکھا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ بیماریاں اکثر والدین کے جینز سے منتقل ہوتی ہیں اور بچوں کی نشوونما، قد، ہارمونز اور میٹابولزم پر گہرا اثر ڈالتی ہیں۔
بدقسمتی سے، آگاہی کی کمی، قریبی رشتوں میں شادیاں، اور جینیاتی اسکریننگ کا فقدان اس مسئلے کو مزید بڑھا رہے ہیں۔

1️⃣ قریبی رشتوں میں شادیوں کا زیادہ رجحان

پاکستان میں 60 سے 70 فیصد شادیاں قریبی رشتے داروں میں ہوتی ہیں، جس سے ریسیسیو جینز کے ملاپ کے امکانات بڑھ جاتے ہیں۔ نتیجتاً بچوں میں موروثی بیماریاں پیدا ہونے کا خطرہ کئی گنا بڑھ جاتا ہے۔

2️⃣ آگاہی اور اسکریننگ کی کمی

اکثر والدین کو جینیاتی بیماریوں یا پری میرٹل / نیو بورن اسکریننگ کی اہمیت کا علم نہیں ہوتا۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ بہت سے بچے دیر سے تشخیص اور علاج تک پہنچ پاتے ہیں۔

3️⃣ جینیاتی کونسلنگ کی عدم دستیابی

پاکستان میں ماہر جینیاتی کونسلرز اور جدید سہولیات کی کمی ہے۔ جب والدین تاخیر سے ڈاکٹر کے پاس پہنچتے ہیں تو علاج کے امکانات محدود ہو جاتے ہیں۔

4️⃣ بچوں کی صحت پر اثرات

یہ بیماریاں بچوں میں قد کی کمی، ہارمونل مسائل، میٹابولک امراض، اور ذہنی و جسمانی کمزوری کا سبب بن سکتی ہیں۔ ایسے کیسز کے لیے پیڈی ایٹرک اینڈوکرائنولوجسٹ کی ماہرانہ نگرانی ضروری ہے۔

اگر ابتدائی تشخیص، آگاہی مہمات، اور جینیاتی کونسلنگ کو فروغ دیا جائے تو ہم مستقبل کی نسلوں کو ان امراض سے محفوظ رکھ سکتے ہیں۔
