INFANT CARE:

At TMH, we believe every newborn deserves the best start in life. Here are some essential tips for new parents on caring for your precious little one:

1. Feeding: Whether breastfeeding or formula feeding, ensure your baby is fed on demand (about 8-12 times in 24 hours). Watch for signs of hunger such as lip movements, sucking motions, and restlessness.

2. Sleeping: Newborns need about 14 to 17 hours of sleep a day. Always place your baby on their back to sleep, on a firm mattress, and remove any soft bedding from the area.

3. Diapering: You'll likely be changing at least 10 diapers a day! Make sure to clean the diaper area thoroughly and use diaper rash cream as needed to prevent irritation.

4. Bathing: Bathe your baby 2-3 times a week in warm, not hot, water to keep their skin from drying out. Always keep one hand on your baby for safety.

5. Health Checks: Keep up with pediatric appointments and vaccinations. Regular check-ups are key to monitoring your baby’s growth and development.

6. Bonding: Spend plenty of time cuddling, talking, and singing to your baby. This can enhance emotional development and strengthen your bond.

🤰 Pregnancy is a journey of joy and challenges, and at TMH, we're here to ensure you and your baby get the healthiest start possible. Here are Five essential prenatal care tips every expectant mother should know:

1. Regular Check-ups: Ensure you schedule regular visits with your healthcare provider. These check-ups are vital for monitoring the health of both you and your baby.

2. Balanced Diet: Eating a balanced diet is crucial. Incorporate a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water!

3. Supplements: Taking a prenatal vitamin helps prevent birth defects and promotes healthy growth.

4. Exercise: Gentle exercise, like walking, can help reduce stress, improve circulation, and boost your overall health. Always consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise.

5. Rest: Listen to your body and make sure you get plenty of rest. Managing fatigue is important not just for your health, but for your baby’s development too.
