ذیابیطس کے عالمی دن کے موقع پر ڈی ٹاک اینڈ انسولین فار لائف پراجیکٹ کے تحت ڈائریکٹوریٹ جنرل ہیلتھ سروسز خیبرپختونخوا میں ایک روزہ ذیابیطس اسکریننگ کیمپ اور آگاہی پروگرام کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔

اس اقدام کا مقصد ذیابیطس کی روک تھام اور انتظام کے بارے میں آگاہی کو بڑھانا، صوبے میں ذیابیطس کے بڑھتے ہوئے پھیلاؤ کو روکنا، اور ہیلتھ سٹاف کے لیے مفت ٹیسٹ اور مشاورت فراہم کرنا تھا۔

حالیہ اعدادوشمار کے مطابق پاکستان میں تقریباً 33 ملین افراد ذیابیطس کے مرض میں مبتلا ہیں جن میں سے تقریباً 6 سے 7 ملین کیسز صرف خیبرپختونخوا میں رپورٹ ہوئے ہیں۔ پاکستان میں ذیابیطس کے پھیلاؤ کی شرح خطرناک حد تک 30.8 فیصد پر ہے، جس سے ملک ذیابیطس کے پھیلاؤ کے لحاظ سے دنیا بھر میں تیسرے نمبر پر ہے۔

ڈی جی ایچ ایس میں تقریب کا افتتاح سیکرٹری ہیلتھ خیبرپختونخوا سید عدیل شاہ، ڈائریکٹر جنرل ہیلتھ سروسز کے پی ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم، اور ڈی ٹاک اینڈ انسولین فار لائف کے پروجیکٹ ڈائریکٹر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اے ایچ عامر اور ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر جنرل ہیلتھ سروسز کے پی ڈاکٹر شاہد یونس نے کیا۔

The Extension of D-TALK & Insulin for Life conducted a capacity-building session for doctors from 22 district health facilities at the DHQ level. The training aimed to enhance diabetes treatment services by equipping doctors with the latest treatment techniques, enabling them to provide quality care to diabetic patients in their respective districts.

The primary objective of the training session was to build the capacity of doctors through comprehensive training, empowering them to treat diabetic patients at their doorstep, thereby reducing the need for patients to travel to Peshawar. Additionally, the program sought to raise awareness about diabetes management and the provision of free insulin to underserved populations.

The certificate distribution ceremony was graced by Director (Curative), DGHS KP, Dr. Saeeda, and Deputy Director Curative, Dr. Abbas, who distributed certificates among the participants, recognizing their successful completion of the training program.

In order to keep continue the un-interrupted supply of "Life Saving Drugs (Insulins & Medicines)" to the diabetic patients of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa across the districts, the SBD Meeting held on 29.08.2024 under the Chairmanship of Project Director, Extension of D-TALK & Insulin for Life, Health Department. The meeting was attended by the representatives from D.G Drugs Control Cell, Director Procurement Cell DGHS, Planning Cell Health Department. The Technical Members from HMC, LRH & KTH were also present at the meeting.
