A 28-year-old patient was admitted to our Medical ICU with wheat pills (aluminum phosphide) poisoning, complicated by severe metabolic acidosis, shock, acute kidney injury, deranged coagulation, myocarditis, and NSTEMI — a condition known for its extremely high mortality rate.
Through timely intervention, vigilant ICU monitoring, multidisciplinary teamwork, and evidence-based critical care, the patient showed gradual improvement. Cardiac markers trended down, hemodynamics stabilized, organ functions recovered, and today the patient has been successfully discharged in a stable condition.
Cases like this remind us why ICU care is not just about medicine, but about hope, resilience, and teamwork.
Every recovery strengthens our belief in critical care and the power of coordinated healthcare.
Grateful to be part of a team that turns the impossible into possible. 🙏
