⚠️ Foodborne illnesses are caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, or chemicals entering the body through contaminated food or water.
🧑🍳 Most foodborne illnesses are preventable and it starts in your kitchen.
🤢 Every year, unsafe food makes 600 million people sick. But the good news is there are simple, science-based habits to stay safe:
1️⃣ Keep clean – Wash hands, surfaces and utensils regularly.
2️⃣ Separate raw and cooked – Avoid cross-contamination.
3️⃣ Cook thoroughly – Especially meat, poultry, eggs and seafood.
4️⃣ Keep food at safe temperatures – Don’t leave food in the danger zone (5°C–60°C).
5️⃣ Use safe water and raw materials – Always check freshness and source.
🙌 These steps are especially important for children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immunity.
