Official Statement: MAAH Foundation and Insaf Optometry Forum (IOF)
The MAAH Foundation, in collaboration with the Insaf Optometry Forum (IOF), Sher Bahadar Care Foundation, and Poultry Corporator Society, organized a free medical camp and distribution of food supplies for flood victims in Bunir. Our team conducted assessments in the most severely affected areas, including Chugharzai, Murado, and Jabagai. Additionally, we visited regions that, while not directly impacted by flooding, faced imminent risks due to heavy, continuous rainfall, which threatened their homes' stability.
Our initiative was supported by medical professionals from various specialties, including general medicine, ophthalmology, pediatrics, psychology, dermatology, and others. Local residents actively contributed to the success of this humanitarian effort. During the campaign, we examined over one thousand individuals, including more than three hundred eye patients comprising men, women, children, and youths. We provided free medications for general health and eye conditions, along with mineral water and food supplies.
The prevalent medical conditions observed included adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis, diarrhea, skin infections, and other communicable diseases, many of which are now reaching epidemic proportions. We express our deepest gratitude to all representatives, donors, and local residents for their invaluable support in this noble cause.
We emphasize that this natural disaster has resulted in significant loss and devastation. Immediate and comprehensive intervention is urgently required to provide medical aid, financial assistance, and support for rebuilding homes. We call upon the government to take swift and effective measures to manage and address the ongoing crisis and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected populations.
Best Regards.
