Over the past 4 years, the Pakistani rupee has lost 75.19% of its value, and the cost of living has risen significantly. Despite this, House Officers' stipends in KPK have not increased, putting a heavy financial strain on young doctors.
We request the KPK government to increase House Officers' stipends by more than 50%. This increase is necessary to help doctors keep up with rising living costs, improve their quality of life, and ensure they can focus on their work without financial worries. A stipend raise would also encourage more young people to stay in the healthcare field and contribute to the betterment of the healthcare system in KPK and beyond.
Furthermore, we suggest implementing a policy to raise stipends annually, just like other professions, to prevent future issues and ensure fair compensation for doctors. This will help maintain a motivated workforce and strengthen the healthcare system in the long run.
