After completing my MBBS, me and my family went to
see a beautiful girl under arranged marriage system
of our families. The matter got closed as the girl
didn't liked my nature of job and her family was
uncertain about my career.

Meanwhile I passed my FCPS-1 exam and entered a training program in General Surgery and the chapter of marriage got closed for a while.

5 years later I saw the same girl with her husband and
two kids in their brand new Audi at a traffic signal
where I was trying to kick start my motorcycle which
was short of petrol. That girl looked out of car and
gave me a brief look but was surely unable to
recognise me as I was wearing a helmet.

First time in my life I realized the importance of helmet while riding a bike. Do wear helmets. They just
don't save lives.🫣

Why you don’t react to everything!!

I’m 'Slowly' Learning That I Don’t Have To React To 'Everything' That Bothers Me.

I’m slowly learning that I don’t have to hurt those who hurt me.

I’m slowly learning that maybe the 'ultimate' sign of maturity is walking away instead of getting even.

I’m slowly learning that the energy it takes to react to every bad thing that happens to you drains you and stops you from seeing the other good things in life.

I’m slowly learning that I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and I won’t be able to get everyone to treat me the way I want to be treated 'and that’s okay.'

I’m slowly learning that trying so hard to ‘win’ anyone is just a 'waste' of time and energy and it fills you with 'nothing' but emptiness.

I’m slowly learning that not reacting doesn’t mean I’m okay with things, it just means I’m choosing to 'rise' above it.

I’m choosing to take the 'lesson' it has served and learn from it I’m choosing to be 'the bigger' person.

I’m choosing my 'peace of mind' because that’s what I 'truly' need. I don’t need more drama. I don’t need people making me feel like I’m not good enough. I don’t need fights and arguments and 'fake' connections. I’m slowly learning that sometimes 'not' saying anything at all says everything.'

I’m slowly learning that reacting to things that upset you gives someone else power over 'your' emotions.

You can’t control what others do but you can control how you respond, how you handle it, how you perceive it and 'how much of it' you want to take personally. I’m slowly learning that most of the time, these situations say nothing about you and a lot about the other person.

I’m slowly learning that even if I react, it won’t change anything, it won’t make people suddenly love and respect me, it won’t magically change their minds.

Sometimes it’s better to just let things be, let people go, 'don’t' fight for closure, 'don’t' ask for explanations, 'don’t' chase answers and 'don’t' expect people to understand

THREE QUESTIONS
BY LEO TOLSTOY

"Three Questions" is a short story by Russian author Leo Tolstoy first published in 1885 as part of the collection What Men Live By, and Other Tales. The story takes the form of a parable, and it concerns a king who wants to find the answers to what he considers the three most important questions in life.

Summary :
The thought came to a certain king that he would never fail if he knew three things. These three things were

●What was the right time to begin everything?
●Who were the right people to listen to, and whom to avoid?
●What was the most important thing to do?
He proclaimed that the ones who give the right answers shall be rewarded. Many learned men attempted to answer the king's questions, but they all came up with different answers. The king decided that he needed to ask a wise hermit in a nearby village. The hermit would only see common people, however, so the king put on common dress, left his guards behind, and went to see the hermit. The hermit was digging flower beds when the king arrived. The king asked his questions, but the hermit went on digging. The king offered to dig for him for a while. After digging for some time, the king again asked his questions. Before the hermit could answer, a man emerged from the woods. He was bleeding from a terrible stomach wound. The king tended to him, and they stayed the night in the hermit's hut. By the next day the wounded man was doing better, but was incredulous at the help he had received. The man confessed that he knew who the king was, and that the king had executed his brother and seized his property. He had come to kill the king, but the king's guards had wounded him. The man pledged allegiance to the king, and he went on his way. The king asked the hermit again for his answers, and the hermit responded that he had just had his questions answered.

The most important time is NOW. The present is the only time over which we have power.
The most important person is the person you are with.
The most important thing is to do good to the person you are with.
