Alhamdulillah!

Ali Institute of Neurosciences, Irfan General Hospital has been accredited for Spine Surgery, and Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ali has been honoured by CPSP as Supervisor for Spine Surgery.

This achievement did not happen overnight. It is the result of years of consistent effort, strong leadership, academic discipline, and a clear focus on clinical training and research excellence. Following Neurosurgery accreditation, this step further reflects the standards built at AINS under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ali.

Trainees can now opt for Spine Surgery training at AINS, IGH, under the supervision of a mentor whose vision continues to shape both surgical practice and academic growth.

A moment of pride and progress for the institution.

38th Annual PSN Conference – Malam Jabba

My sincere thanks to all the distinguished neurosurgeons, faculty members, international guests, trainees, and young aspiring neurosurgeons who joined us in Malam Jabba for the 38th Annual Conference of the Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons. Your presence turned this meeting into a meaningful and memorable experience.

The conference opened with thoughtful plenary sessions that honoured the pioneers of neurosurgery in Pakistan. These early discussions set the tone for the academic activities that followed and aligned well with this year’s theme, Continuous Technological Innovation and Neurosurgical Advances. The theme guided our discussions throughout and highlighted how rapidly our field is evolving..

Over the past few days, we covered a wide range of scientific themes that represent the full breadth of modern neurosurgery. Sessions in neuro-oncology, vascular, spine, pediatric, skull base, trauma, functional neurosurgery, and advances in imaging and operative technology were well received and brought strong academic value to the program. Our keynote talks added important global perspectives and highlighted how innovation is reshaping neurosurgical care and education.

Workshops, resident quizzes, poster presentations, and interactive panel discussions provided practical learning and created opportunities for trainees to participate actively. It was encouraging to see young neurosurgeons engage with seniors in open, productive discussions.

Our international delegates added great depth to the meeting. Their participation strengthened collaborations and reflected the growing global engagement of Pakistan’s neurosurgical community.

Beyond academics, this conference brought colleagues and families together in the beautiful surroundings of Malam Jabba. It was a pleasure to see everyone learn, connect, and create lasting memories.

I am grateful to all national and international speakers whose contributions enriched every session. Your commitment to advancing neurosurgical practice is sincerely appreciated.

Lastly, my heartfelt thanks to the entire organizing team, and all supporting members who worked tirelessly to ensure that this event was well organized and impactful. Your dedication is the reason this conference will be remembered as a success.
