Quality Control Programme Conducts Inspection Visits to Mercy and Kuwait Teaching Hospitals
Peshawar, November 2025 — The Quality Control Programme of Peshawar Medical College (PMC), led by Director Dr. Maqsood Ali, conducted comprehensive inspection visits to Mercy Teaching Hospital and Kuwait Teaching Hospital. He was accompanied by committee members Dr. Luqman, Dr. Salma, and Engineer Junaid ur Rahman.
During the visits, the inspection team was assisted by the Medical Superintendents, Dr. Ghias Rajab at Mercy Teaching Hospital (MTH) and Dr. Abdul Aziz Zia at Kuwait Teaching Hospital (KTH), along with their technical and administrative teams. The visits focused on evaluating quality assurance standards, infrastructure, patient care services and adherence to institutional protocols.
The committee emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in service delivery, patient care and operational efficiency.

Dr. Asma Ghani, an alumna of Peshawar Medical College (PMC), has brought great honour to her alma mater and the country by securing 6th position worldwide and 2nd position in Pakistan in the Part 3 MRCOG Examination conducted by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), United Kingdom.

Peshawar Medical College Laboratories Launch Comprehensive Dengue Profile Testing Facility
The Mercy Teaching Hospital, Peshawar laboratories have launched a comprehensive Dengue Profile Testing Facility to support timely diagnosis and effective management of dengue cases during the ongoing seasonal outbreak.
The new diagnostic package includes:
• Blood Complete (CBC)
• Dengue ICT (IgG & IgM)
• Dengue ICT-NS1 Ag
The complete dengue profile is being offered at a subsidized price of Rs. 1150, with the added convenience of free home sample collection for patients across Peshawar.

The Prime Foundation has announced the commencement of its new institute, Prime College of Allied Health Sciences, affiliated with Khyber Medical University (KMU).
The college will offer five BS degree programs for the Session 2025–2029, including:
• BS Medical Lab Technology (MLT)
• BS Dental Technology
• BS Anesthesia Technology
• BS Optometry
• BS Radiology Technology
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must have F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or an equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks in Biology. Candidates holding a 2-year Paramedical Diploma may also apply by submitting an IBCC Equivalency Certificate.
Admissions are open to candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including merged districts, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan, subject to KMU-CAT 2025 qualification and merit-based selection.

FCPS II/MCPS Extended TOACS Preparatory Workshop Held at Peshawar Medical College

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Peshawar Medical College and Allied Hospitals, successfully organized the FCPS II/MCPS Extended TOACS Preparatory Workshop on October 29, 2025.

The workshop aimed to enhance the clinical preparedness of postgraduate trainees for the FCPS II and MCPS examinations through hands-on practice sessions, interactive discussions, and focused reviews of challenging examination topics.
