The Department of Tarbiyyah at Riphah International University, Peshawar Campus, inaugurated the two-day Summer Tarbiyyah 2025, Leadership Track on Friday, aiming to cultivate values-driven leadership among the institutional and administrative teams of the university.
The workshop brought together key academic leaders, administrators and experts for a thoughtfully designed program combining plenary sessions and interactive group discussions to explore contemporary leadership challenges through the lens of Islamic values, ethical governance, and institutional vision.
Dr. Umar Farooq, Director of Riphah International University, Lahore Campus, opened the session by presenting a framework for a model higher education institution. He emphasized the multi-dimensional parameters that define a successful academic environment , including academic excellence, character development, service orientation and institutional sustainability.
He was followed by Mr. Hifz-ur-Rehman, former Secretary, Local Government, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who delivered an insightful talk on aligning institutional governance with ethical principles, highlighting practical strategies to promote accountability, transparency, and value-based decision-making in both corporate and academic institutions.
Engaging group discussions were facilitated by a distinguished panel including Dr. Umar Farooq, Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman, Mr. Hifz-ur-Rehman, and Prof. Dr. Zahoor Swati. These sessions allowed participants to critically analyze current institutional practices and propose innovative recommendations aligned with the day’s theme.
At the conclusion of the group work, Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman and Prof. Dr. Tayab presented the consolidated group recommendations, offering a reflective and forward-looking roadmap for implementing ethical and faith-centered leadership practices within the institution.
Dr. Abdul Latif Khan Ghandapur, Head of the Tarbiyyah Department, highlighted the aims and objectives of the Tarbiyyah initiative, emphasizing the importance of effective management practices.
The program’s overall coordination and stage management were led by Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, ensuring smooth conduct and active engagement throughout the day.
