A know case of TBI with psychiatric sequelae secondary to RTA .
Traumatic injury has been shown to be the leading cause of trauma-related psychiatric disorders and hence represents a major public health issue. These issues require proper attention because of the potential impact of psychiatric illness on functioning following traumatic injury. Patients with mild TBI were twice as likely to develop PTSD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, or social phobia than patients without TBI
The case was managed by team approach involving Psychiatrists,neurosurgeon and physiotherapist
Moral of the story to please observe traffic rules as accident can bring countless miseries to patient and family.
