A patient is on Amiodarone . Reports worsening of arrhythmia . Check Thyroid status!!

Type 1 AIT (Amiodarone induced thyroditis )
Due to iodine content of amiodarone and increase synthesis of thyroid harmone!

Type 2 AIT:
chronic destruction of thyroid gland and release of thyroid harmone!!

Based on pathology what do you think is difference in treatment??

Myth : ( I was of the same view)
Low dose thyroxine can cause weight loss. That’s why used as off-licence drug for weight loss!!

Fact:
Only supra physiological doses of it can cause weight loss ! Which is harmful as well . Low dose intake cause body to slow down its own synthesis as compensatory mechanism and hence no effects!!!

Today lesson learnt from an endocrinologist!

I thought only our seniors and supervisors are toxic !!!

But when I watched live judicial proceedings of Supreme Court I feel v sorry for our lawyer community and colleaques. They face toxiest and cringiest of creatures on daily basis who don’t have iota of sharam and Hayya.

Our judiciary is worst and is rightly called bi***es of riches.

Sorry for non academic post but was fuming from inside for seeing these things for last few days.
