On 15th May 2025, the Urology Interest Group-KMC/KTH conducted its introductory session and interviews under the esteemed supervision of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐫, Head of the Department of Urology at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH).

The session commenced with a comprehensive introductory lecture by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐫, who highlighted the significance of research, clinical hands-on experience, and elective rotations in the fields of urology and general medicine.

His talk provided valuable guidance and motivation for medical students aspiring to pursue a career in urology.

Following the lecture, the Student President, Muhammad Khan, delivered an overview of the Urology Interest Group’s mission and structure. He outlined the group’s three main subdivisions:

𝟐. 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
𝟑. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬 & 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Each section is designed to provide students with focused opportunities in academic development, clinical exposure, and professional networking within the field of urology.

Subsequently, the committee of the Interest Group conducted interviews to appoint Heads and Assistant Heads for each of the three subsections.

This step aims to build a dedicated leadership team committed to organizing and managing the group’s upcoming initiatives.

The session concluded with an open Q&A segment, where students engaged in meaningful discussions, asked questions, and received direct feedback from the panel and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐫, fostering a collaborative and enthusiastic learning environment.

Dr. Hazratullah Wazir, head of the Urology Unit, successfully performed a microscopic varicocelectomy (MSV), along with his skilled team, Dr. Imdadullah and Dr. Younas Khan.

This advanced procedure aims to improve fertility care and reduce discomfort for patients.

General Urology started in 2017 and has now expanded to include pediatric urology and Androurology.
