Where passion meets profession; IPMR Occupational Therapy Discipline Society (IDS) strived hard to organize an illuminating workshop about Sensory Motor Foundation for Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation under an esteemed instructor Ma'am Nighat Tahir and moderators Ma'am Nazish Abdul-Qadeer and Ma'am Fatima Saleem.

"On International Disability Day, the Paraplegic Centre Peshawar organized a series of meaningful events to celebrate the strength and resilience of individuals with disabilities. Among the highlights was the stall set up by the IPMR Disciplinary Society, showcasing their commitment to creating awareness and promoting inclusion. The Occupational Therapy Society played a significant role in the event by presenting innovative models and engaging the audience with insights about the field of Occupational Therapy.

Under the supervision of the Society Head, Zainullah Marwat, the students passionately represented their profession, demonstrating how Occupational Therapy contributes to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This initiative served as a platform to educate, inspire, and advocate for greater accessibility and support for people with disabilities, marking a step forward in building an inclusive society.

Around the age of 2 to 18 months, as a child begins moving their hands and developing their milestones, we often hand them a phone. As a result, they may skip important developmental milestones that they need to achieve on time, potentially leading to major disorders like Autism and Cerebral Palsy. We may not even realize what is happening. Some of the major signs to watch for include getting upset over everything, showing no interest in activities, not eating properly, preferring to stay away from others, and frequently being angry.

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a client-centered health profession that focuses on enabling individuals to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists work with people of all ages who may be experiencing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges that impact their ability to perform daily tasks.

The primary goal of OT is to help individuals achieve and maintain independence, enhance their quality of life, and enable them to live life to the fullest.
Occupational therapists work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, community health organizations, and private practice. They address a wide range of conditions, such as developmental disorders, injuries, mental health issues, and chronic illnesses, tailoring their approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.
