Kuwait Teaching Hospital Kuwait Teaching Hospital is one of the leading teaching hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa It is located on the main university road across abdara chowk.

Kuwait Teaching Hospital Peshawar was established in 1983 and was governed by Kuwait Red Crescent Society. In September 2005 an agreement was executed between the governing body of the hospital in Kuwait and Peshawar Medical College for the transfer of management in order to convert this hospital in to a teaching facility. Kuwait Teaching Hospital is a 250 bedded charity hospital with all major & some of the minor specialties of medical disciplines. It is attached to Peshawar Medical College as a teaching hospital. The hospital was visited by KP Health Care Commission, Pakistan Medical Commission and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) and recognized by all the three organizations as a charity and a teaching hospital. In 2008 post graduate training for FCPS in the discipline of Medicine and Surgery has been started. Kuwait Teaching Hospital is a charity hospital and provides best quality Medical care to the poor patients at a very nominal rate. It also provides free treatment to many poor patients. Consultants in all disciplines, which include Medicine, Surgery, Gynae/Obs, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, E.N.T, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Medical Oncology, Dermatology, Pathology, Hematology and Interventional Radiology are available. In addition to consultants, medical officers and TMOs in Medicine and Surgery work rounds the clock. Presently the Hospital is a reorganized Institute for post-graduate training in the discipline of Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Cardiology. The hospital intends to start postgraduate training in various other specialties in near future. Apart from normal working, the Hospital is providing 24 hours emergency services through casualty medical officers and consultants on call duties. All essential diagnostic facilities are available for 24 hours.

A BLS Workshop was arranged by the Cardiology Department, Kuwait Teaching Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. Abdur Rauf, HOD Cardiology Department (KTH). A total of four sessions were conducted, during which more than 80 staff members, including doctors, nurses, and support staff, received hands-on training.

The certificate distribution ceremony was held on 13th January 2026. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ul Hassan (President Pakistan Cardiac Society), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Saqib Qureshi (Peshawar Medical College) and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Subhan (MS/HOD Medicine, KTH). Certificates were distributed among the participants, and the educational efforts and such initiatives of the Cardiology Department were highly appreciated.

All participants were encouraged to spread this vital knowledge, as Basic Life Support (BLS) is a lifesaving skill and plays a crucial role in emergency situations.

31st December 2025, the last day of the year in Kuwait Teaching Hospital Peshawar.
An honorary event was organized to celebrate a successful year of educational activities (CPCs) and to acknowledge the completion of the tenure of Dr. Abdul Aziz Zia as Medical Superintendent of Kuwait Teaching Hospital.

During the event, Dr. Abdul Aziz Zia shared his journey, reflecting on how he was initially posted to Kuwait Teaching Hospital in 2020 for a short period with few assigned tasks, which eventually extended into a remarkable tenure of more than five years. He highlighted the major milestones and achievements accomplished during his tenure. Dr. Zia thanked the Patron Prime Foundation, Dean, and all the concerned officials of PMC for supporting him to improve the services of the hospital.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hospital Management committee amd team of Kuwait Teaching Hospital, describing them as more than colleagues, rather a family and emphasized how teamwork and collective dedication played a vital role in achieving significant progress for the hospital.

The event was honoured by the presence of Dean PMC, Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman, along with Dr. Saeed Anwar and Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, who attended as chief guests. Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman spoke about his long-standing brotherly relationship with Dr. Aziz Zia commended his unwavering commitment, professionalism, and dedication to every responsibility entrusted to him by the organization.

Dr. Abdul Aziz Zia is appointed as "Chairman Radiology Services PMC" He has now been assigned a new role, where he will be leading the expansion of the Radiology Department in three hospitals of PMC including Peshawar Dental College, and spearheading the team to provide advanced radiological services.

The team of Kuwait Teaching Hospital extends its best wishes to Dr. Abdul Aziz Zia for success in his new journey and expresses sincere appreciation for his exceptional leadership and invaluable contributions over the past five years.

BLS (Basic Life Support) was arranged by Cardiology department Kuwait Teaching Hospital.

managed the hand-on practice. Dr. Abdul Aziz Zia MS of the hospital was present at the occasion.
The aim of such activity is to train the staff especially the ER professionals, in essential life-saving skills like high-quality CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for adults, children, and infants, proper AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, and relieving choking, covering both single and multi-rescuer scenarios to manage breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced care arrives. This hands-on courses teaches how to respond to conditions like opioid overdoses and sudden cardiac arrest.

Quality Control Committee of PMC Conducts Inspection Visit to KTH
Peshawar, — Dr. Maqsood Ali, Director of the Quality Control Programme at Peshawar Medical College (PMC), conducted an inspection visit to Kuwait Teaching Hospital to review institutional standards and operational quality.
He was accompanied by committee members Dr. Luqman, Dr. Salma, and Engineer Junaid ur Rahman. During the visit, the team inspected various departments of the hospital, assessed compliance with quality assurance protocols, and evaluated healthcare services and infrastructure.
The inspection aimed to ensure adherence to established academic and clinical standards, enhance patient care services and identify areas for further improvement.
