Provincial Health Minister Mr. Khaliq-ur-Rehman visited the Ophthalmology Units of Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), Peshawar, to review patient care and available facilities. Guided by Dean, he inspected the wards, met staff, and expressed satisfaction over the department’s clean environment, modern equipment, and quality services.

The Minister announced that the Health Department, in collaboration with Elementary & Secondary Education, will arrange free eye checkups in schools by ophthalmologists to ensure early detection of eye issues among children.

He was also briefed on the overall facilities of HMC and assured priority support for upgrading eye care services, including provision of essential modern equipment.

Highlighting the heavy patient load as a sign of public trust, he urged doctors and staff to continue serving with professionalism, humility, and dedication. He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption and stressed efficient use of all resources for public welfare.

The Cat-D Hospital Mola Khan Sarai has not yet been outsourced.
