Today, the Pakistan Blind Sports Federation (PBSF) warmly welcomed distinguished guests from Iran at Islamabad International Airport:
• Reza Dehgan, Technical Director, International Blind Sports Association (IBSA)
• Leila Naeimabadi, Coach of Pakistan’s National Goalball Team
They were received by PBSF President Muhammad Waqas, Vice President Muhammad Shehzad Javed, and Tahira Mir.
This marks another proud step as Pakistan prepares to host the Asia Pacific Goalball Championship 2025. 🏆

PBSF Nationwide Training Camps for Asia Pacific Goalball
The Pakistan Blind Sports Federation (PBSF) successfully organized training camps across Sindh and Islamabad, bringing together 77 talented male and female goalball players from all provinces of Pakistan.

After rigorous training and evaluation, 17 male and 14 female athletes have been shortlisted to participate in the final selection camp, taking place from August 28th to September 10th 2025 at Liaquat Gymnasium, Islamabad Sports Complex.

This final camp will determine the official male and female squads who will represent Pakistan in the Asia Pacific Goalball Championship 2025.

We are proud to see such inspiring talent and determination from our differently-abled athletes. Wishing all participants the very best!

At the Youth Convention, PBSF player Fawad Alam was honored with an award by Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif. His mother, Tahira Mir — trainer of the women’s goalball team — received appreciation for leading her team to victory in the 2024 Goalball Series in Kenya. The Prime Minister expressed his intent to meet the entire women’s team after 14th August. PBSF thanks the Prime Minister for his recognition and support, and remains hopeful that the Kenya Series champions will soon be invited to the PM’s office, along with assurance of support for the upcoming Asia Pacific Goalball Championship.

Secretary PBSA Naik Akhtar Javed, along with PBSF President Muhammad Waqas, Vice President Muhammad Shahzad Javed, Faizan Khattak President IBSA, Ajeet Kumar Secretary Chess, Muhammad Akbar, and other officials, celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day at the Pakistan Boys Scouts Association Headquarters in Islamabad. The ceremony featured a flag-raising, tree plantation, and a special performance by Fawad Alam — the young athlete recently awarded by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The Secretary appreciated PBSF’s initiatives and assured his full support for promoting blind sports in the country.

Today, Mr. Fawad Alam, the youngest member of the Pakistan Blind Sports Federation and a talented chess player, was honored with an Youth Excellencey award 2025 from the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, presented by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. This recognition marks a proud achievement for Fawad Alam, celebrating his remarkable performances and contributions across multiple arenas.
