The Sports Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Institute of Health Sciences was held on 26 December 2025 at the Civil Auditorium. The event was honored by the presence of Head Institute Of Health Sciences Rao M. Waqas Kaleem, who distributed shields and certificates among the students in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The Head of the Institute highly appreciated the dedication, discipline, and hard work of the students, admiring their continuous efforts and true spirit of sportsmanship throughout the sports activities. The Institute of Health Sciences organized a seminar titled “Advances in Histopathology & Modern Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Strategies” for BS Medical Lab Technology students on December 10, 2025, at the Civil Auditorium, KFUEIT, Rahim Yar Khan. Distinguished speakers included Dr. Usama Rehman (Consultant Pathologist) and Mr. Muhammad Ali Malik (Senior Medical Lab Technologist/President, Medical Lab Technologists Association of Pakistan) from Shaikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital.

Dr. Usama Rehman highlighted the transformative shift from traditional microscopy to Digital Pathology and Whole Slide Imaging (WSI). He explained the growing role of Artificial Intelligence as a “second reader” in diagnostics, along with advancements in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) 2.0 and Molecular Pathology supporting precision oncology.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Malik delivered an insightful session on Infection Prevention & Control, describing pathology laboratories as critical “biohazard hubs” that require stringent safety measures. He outlined the Four Primary Controls of Biosafety and demonstrated proper PPE use. His hands-on training included donning and doffing techniques, the “Beak Method” for glove removal, and effective hand hygiene practices to prevent laboratory-acquired infections.

At the conclusion, the Head of Department, Dr. Rao Waqas, emphasized the significance of such seminars for students’ professional development and affirmed the department’s commitment to organizing similar capacity-building sessions in the future.

National Seminar on International Day of Persons with Disabilities Held at KFUEIT

The Institute of Health Sciences, KFUEIT, successfully organized a National Seminar on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 03, 2025, at the Civil Auditorium.

This important event was organized in collaboration with the District Health Authority Rahim Yar Khan, CEO Health Dr. Ghazanfar Shafeeq, and CCO COMNet–UNICEF Rahim Yar Khan, Mr. Nadeem Wali Muhammad, whose institutional support added great value to the seminar.

Distinguished speakers from academia, healthcare, and government departments shared their expert insights on disability inclusion, accessibility, and community empowerment.
Experts including Dr. Ghazanfar Shafeeq (CEO Health RYK), Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad (Dean FAHS), Mr. Amir Zia Isran, Prof. Dr. Saima Zahid, and Prof. Dr. Syed Asadullah Arslan enriched the seminar with valuable perspectives and professional experience.

As part of the closing ceremony, certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to the distinguished speakers in acknowledgment of their valuable contributions.
Additionally, Dr. Rao M. Waqas Kaleem, Head, Institute of Health Sciences, presented shields of honor to the esteemed guests for their participation and support.

Special appreciation is also extended to the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Amir Azam Khan, for his continuous guidance and support for academic and community-focused initiatives at KFUEIT.
