We are pleased to share that Cantonment General Hospital Rawalpindi (CGH) has successfully hosted the FCPS examinations in the specialties of General Surgery and Medicine, under the auspices of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

The exams were conducted in a structured, fair, and professional environment, supervised by the Heads of Departments and senior faculty members, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and academic rigor.

On this important occasion, Dr Khalid Saeed (Director Professions & Academics) and Dr Salman Shah (Deputy Director Admin) were present in the examination halls to oversee the process and provide continuous support.
Executive Director Major General (R) Qamar ul Haq Noor personally inspected the examination arrangements, engaged with candidates, and received a detailed overview from the faculty—further reinforcing our commitment to excellence.

We were honoured to welcome Maj Gen (R) Mazhar Ishaq – Counsellor CPSP Islamabad, and Prof Hanif – Ex-President, Society of Surgeons Rawalpindi at Cantt General Hospital Rawalpindi, for a detailed review of our Surgery Department for accreditation of FCPS Part-II in Surgery.
Our Executive Director Maj Gen (R) Qamar ul Haq Noor, along with the Administration team and entire Surgery Department, warmly received the guests. Director Professions and Academics Dr Khalid Saeed provided a comprehensive overview on surgical capabilities and departmental readiness.

🚨 Neonatal Life Support Workshop at CGH Rawalpindi 🚨
🗓️ Organized by: Department of Paediatrics, Cantonment General Hospital Rawalpindi.
A highly impactful Neonatal Life Support (NLS) Workshop was conducted under the supervision of Dr Tasleem Bano, HoD Paediatrics, CGH.
👨‍⚕️The workshop was led by Dr Nouman Naseer, renowned Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist from Rawalpindi Medical University, who was the Chief Guest and shared valuable insights on modern neonatal resuscitation practices. Neonatal Life Support equips doctors and nurses with the skills needed to save newborns in critical conditions covering resuscitation, airway management, emergency care, and more.

As temperatures continue to soar, we at Cantonment General Hospital urge everyone to take the ongoing heatwave seriously. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can lead to heat exhaustion and heatstroke, both of which are serious medical emergencies.

🧠 What is Heatstroke?
Heatstroke occurs when the body overheats and is unable to cool down—this can lead to brain damage, organ failure, or even death if untreated.

🛑 Symptoms to Watch For:
• High body temperature (103°F or higher)
• Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
