Autism Resource Centre Rawalpindi, Pakistan Autism Resource Centre is a joint effort of affected parents and friends. That created a need of a dedicated set up where required facilities were in place.

It has been made exclusively for Children With Autism to provide them required facilities Children with Autism being citizens of Pakistan have equal rights of education and related services. Non availability of such services at national level had left the affected parents in continuous pain and agony specially those who had no clue of where to go, how to handle and what to do for these kids? The complexity and newness of this disorder aroused so many queries regarding their assessment, coping strategies, education, social interaction and rehabilitation of children with Autism in the minds of parents. Under this locked situation, few brave parents who had already undergone the mill, came forward and shouldered the responsibility to move the cart. Initially it started in a house where all affected mothers will bring their kids and work with them and conduct distributed activities. It went well as part of their social interaction but could not make significant advances with regard to their learning and school structured behaviour. It came up in shape of “Autism Resource Centre”, however it took concerted efforts to convert it from a place to Institution, providing home like environment. Each part of it shows involvement of multiple brains with sincere and loving thoughts.

It was a long awaited milestone achieved today. Years back it was an uphill task to get their teeth rectified under general anesthesia because the dentist wasn't sure how to complete the procedure with full cooperation. In OT, it was so painful as a parent to observe all the procedure and then I thought to make them prepared for this day. A years long journey (covered in a couple of minutes) but gives me immense pleasure. The credit goes to big angels (staff) for preparing them and the team of Drs doing this great job in very early stage of their profession (great souls). Keep it up everybody.
