Today is Day. Orthotist/prosthetists play a significant role in the management of diabetic foot disease and prevention of diabetes related amputation.

Effective prevention and healing of diabetes related ulceration requires a team approach and the best results are achieved when clients receive a range of interventions across different health disciplines. Orthotist/prosthetists are essential members of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Orthotist/prosthetists combine clinical and biomechanical expertise to conduct thorough assessments and prescribe treatment for foot ulcers using pressure-offloading orthoses.
