Medicos Aid Society (MAS) is a non political body of potential students of Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) organized in the name of selflessness, devotion & service purely based on humanitarian grounds Since its existence in 1983 under the umbrella of RMU, its members are actively and positively working for poor and suffering humanity and doing all possible efforts to uplift the moral values of the suffers i.e from providing Blood and Medicines to organizing immunization camps. DO/SWWD&BM/06.0365) dated 29-10-2006 and Central Board of Revenue (Redg.No.DDSW/R/83.098) SINCE 1983

Following our aim we always strive to arrange healthy and fresh blood for deserving patients. More than 90 percent of our blood donation is for the poor thalassemic children. Apart from thalassemia we also try to arrange blood for any emergency case in the hospitals. besides having a free dispensary at office, for the medical students, college employees and the deserving patients, arranges free medical camps in remote areas, in the peripheries of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with scarce medical facilities. At our medical camps, consultants, registrars and medical officers from our teaching hospitals provide free check-up facilities and medicines of reputed pharmaceuticals.

Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disorder that damages memory, thinking, and daily functioning.

šŸ”¹ Symptoms: memory loss, confusion with time/place, difficulty planning, trouble recognizing people, mood/personality changes.
šŸ”¹ Causes: protein buildup in the brain, genetics, age, lifestyle & environment.
šŸ”¹ Treatment: no cure yet, but medications, cognitive therapy, healthy habits, and supportive care can help.

In light of the recent floods, Medicos Aid Society and Rawalpindi Medical University are working to raise awareness about Dengue.

What is Dengue Fever?
This serious illness is spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which can lay its eggs in even a small amount of stagnant water.

Symptoms: 🤧
If you suspect you have dengue fever, be aware of these common symptoms:
* High fever
* Severe body aches
* Pain behind the eyes
* Nausea and vomiting
* In some cases, bleeding
Dengue fever can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Prevention and Precautionary Measures:šŸŽ—ļø
The video emphasizes that "Prevention is better than cure." To protect yourself and your community:
* Drain all standing water around your home.
* Wear full-sleeved shirts and pants.
* Cover all water containers and pots.
* Use mosquito repellent.
* Avoid going outside at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.

What is cholera?
A severe diarrheal illness caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. It spreads through contaminated water and food and can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Symptoms:😷
Severe watery diarrhea
Vomiting
Dehydration

Prevention: šŸ„
Use boiled or clean water for drinking.
Wash your hands with soap.
Avoid eating outside.

Being established in 1983, Medicos Aid Society has strived hard to serve the poor and ailing humanity.
The highlights of our activities for the month of June 2025 are:
1) 11 donors from Rawalpindi Medical University donated blood for emergency cases in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
2) A total amount of Rs.173,031/- was spent on deserving patients and regular activities.
3) 48 patients were treated from MAS office dispensary.
4) The Publication Section released awareness posters and publicised the working of MAS.
