Free Diabetes Checkup and Consultation Camp on World Diabetes Day – A Step Toward Better Health..
Rawalpindi — In commemoration of World Diabetes Day 2025, ‘REDO Welfare Trust’ (RWT) organized a ‘free diabetes checkup and consultation camp for local families on November 14, 2025.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing prevalence of diabetes in Pakistan and to provide valuable health services to the community. During the event, families were offered free blood sugar tests, risk assessments, and personalized consultations with healthcare professionals. Participants were also educated on managing their diabetes, healthy eating, and maintaining an active lifestyle to reduce the risk of complications.
The response from the community was overwhelming, with many expressing gratitude for the services provided, acknowledging the importance of early detection and prevention. RWT prepared special banners for the day to inform and engage local communities. These banners were prominently displayed at various locations in the city. Earlier, Haroon Rasheed (General Secretary RWT) issued a special video message to inform the public and highlight RWT's commitment to this cause.
Pakistan, like many countries, is facing a significant rise in diabetes cases. With approximately 33 million adults affected by this chronic condition, the country has one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world, with nearly 31.4% of the adult population suffering from the disease. Early diagnosis and lifestyle changes are essential in managing this condition, and yet many individuals remain unaware of their status until complications arise.
Diabetes can lead to severe health problems such as heart disease, kidney failure, and vision loss, which is why awareness campaigns like World Diabetes Day are crucial in encouraging preventive care and regular health check-ups.
RWT is dedicated to supporting patients in managing their condition through regular monitoring, education, and the provision of necessary medical care, helping reduce the risks associated with diabetes.
Through this initiative, RWT has reaffirmed its commitment to the health and well-being of the community. RWT’s ongoing diabetes support program includes continuous check-ups, personalized treatment plans, and accessible healthcare options for individuals suffering from diabetes.
By offering these services, RWT is making a significant contribution to the fight against diabetes, ensuring that people not only receive the care they need but also gain the knowledge to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
