It's saddening how social media's number of likes is affecting how we view ourselves. The lesser the 'likes' the more we feel we don't matter. It's like the number of reactions and number of followers are our way of feeding our guts. Social media is ruling our lives when it should be the other way around, we adjusted a lot, we adjusted too much, we even fake some things, just to increase the reactions on our posts and because of what? Because we base our importance on those numbers.

I used to be guilty, and looking back, I used to blame the society's influence, they made us starve for validation and appreciation, I thought. But time and experience somehow helped me shift perspective, I learned the hard way that no matter how far I go to pleasing the world and the social media, their appreciation and the numbers of likes won't feed me, won't put a roof above my head and won't help me when I'm in need, so might as well narrow the people whose words and existence would matter to me.

Society may have turned us into individuals who are hungry for likes and comments on social media, but it's on us if we stay that way.

It's our responsibility to help ourselves love ourselves, we can't keep basing our importance on how other people see us, the first help we can give to ourselves is to understand that.

I’ve known many patients with extensive dental issues after removing animal foods from their lives.

The problem is re-introducing meat and fatty animal foods is often hard.

Firstly, they often don’t like the thought of meat, its taste, or textures.

They also don’t feel well after eating meat. Their body struggles to process it, it feels like you digest it forever, and you don’t feel well as a result.

Mentally, the idea that meat is harming another creature and they wouldn’t want to harm another creature even if it was good for them.

Our digestive system is designed for meat, but if you don’t eat it for some time, it switches off the energy intensive enzymes in the gallbladder and liver to help break down and store the nutrients in meat.

The other side is the gut-brain connection. When your mind doesn’t want to eat, it won’t release the hormones required for digestion effectively.

To be healthy, you need to love eating meat.

Have you felt that changing your mindset to meat was a challenge?
