Mueloliva tells the inspiring story of the Muela family’s dedication to produce one of the best Olive Oils of the world in Priego de Cordoba for more than 70 years. Mateo Muela Velasco, the company started as a small olive oil mill using traditional cold pressing technique to extract Olive Oil. In 1975, when the second generation of the Muela family took over, the company owned & operated 4 olive
oil mills and was responsible for generating more than 2500 jobs directly and directly. Today, the third generation continues with the commitment to extract the best flavor and aroma that Olives can give to produce their legendary Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The Mueloliva Oil Mill has a unique and exclusive system that allows the extraction of Oil without any water or heat input during the process. This preserves each and every one of the attributes of the Olive Oil. As a complement, we are seriously concerned about the oxidative damage that the product might suffer. Thus, our Extra Virgin Olive Oils have a high concentration of tocoferols, phytosterols and phenols, all important nutritional components. Also, to prevent any unecessary exposure, the Oil is bottled in the same facility where it is produced. The Olive grove is situated on a hillside in the Cordovan Subbetic Mountains between the fertile plains of Cordoba and the Subbetica Sierra or "Blue" Sierra, as it is locally known. The Olive grove enjoys a microclimate with plenty of rain and variations in temperature along with a mountainous terrain. Adapting to this hard and rustic environment requires vigorous olive trees, which have undergone a process of natural selection.it is in this environment that olive trees have grown in the wild for thousands of years producing Olives with their own unique characteristics. It is these unique characteristics that differentiate Mueloliva from any other Olive Oil.
