LuQman International Hospital in collaboration with the department of Bioengineering,University of Engineering and Applied Sciences Swat, held an event to mark 'Rare Diseases Day'.
The event aimed to raise awareness about rare diseases among patients and staff. 'Rare Disease Day' is an annual global event that seeks to generate awareness and create change for the 300 million people living worldwide with rare diseases, their families, and carriers. The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with young scientists in the field and learn about the latest developments in genetic research at the University of Engineering and Applied Sciences Swat. The hospital also set up a stall where visitors could learn about cutting-edge topics in genomics, epigenetics, and personalized medicine, among others. Informational brochures and books about genetic projects and research studies were also made available to attendees.

Media Covert on World TB Day celebrations at LuQman International Hospital.

LuQman International Hospital (LIH) celebrated World TB Day with great zeal and fervor. The event was attended by officials from District Health Office, Mercy Corps, ACD and National TB Control Program. The main objective of the event was to raise awareness about the prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) and to provide psychosocial support to the infected patients.
During the event, Waseem Anwar, the General Manager of LuQman International Hospital, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the hospital's commitment to providing free treatment to TB patients. He stated that the hospital offers complete free treatment for TB patients, including free medicines and laboratory investigations. He further added that the hospital's aim is to have a TB-free society.
Dr. Rahat Ali Khan, Focal Person of TB Control Program, also addressed the audience and emphasized that spreading awareness about TB treatment is a collective responsibility. He highlighted that the basic aim of the seminar was to raise awareness about the prevention and psychosocial support for infected patients and to inform the community that it is a curable disease.
The event was highly successful in creating awareness about TB prevention and treatment. The attendees appreciated the efforts of LuQman International Hospital in providing free treatment to TB patients and applauded the hospital's commitment to eradicating TB from society.
