A 47-year-old female with necrosed, non-painful pulp showed up due to esthetic issues with no significant medical history; filling was done after RCT without LA.

Treatment:
The pulp was already dead so needed to carry out RCT as the first line of treatment. Local anesthesia was optional in this case. Composite filling with the best possible shade match was done.

A 15-year-old boy came with central incisors chipped off due to RTA with no pain or mobility; his teeth were firm and filled with color-matching composite.

Treatment : No RCT was needed due to his age and his history; biological width and periodontal tissues were healthy with no notifiable injury. He complained of his esthetic issue, so tooth-colored direct composite filling was done without pulp capping.

23 years old female patient with class 4 cavity on left max lateral incisor and class 3 right max lateral central incisor caries, those were non progressive and non painful with complaint of aesthetic. No any systemic history found.

Treatment : Root canal treatment was done for left max lateral filled with fiber post placement to attain a good grip for the orthograde filling. Composite Light cured filling material was used for both filling. Post was placed with GIC lining material.

Description : Aesthetic is one of the major concerns specially if it comes for unmarried females, so filling was mandatory. Root canal treatment was performed prior to filling, space was created with slow speed GG Bur for the fiber post and then a fiber post with 2/3 length placed with GIC. Ended up with composite shade match filling, finishing with slow speed polishing no.1.06 disc burs.

35 years old female pt came with sever painful right lower third molar grossly carious, with no significant systemic history. Extraction was performed. After 2 days she appeared with alveolar osteitis (Dry Socket). Complains dull throbbing pain radiating to ears, unable to open mouth due to pain.

Treatment : After local anesthesia socket was washed with 0.9% normal saline and alveogel (antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory gel) was placed at first. After 4 days follow up inflammation was reduced and the socket showed positive appearance. To initiate healing deep curettage after profound wash with saline was done. Ended up with black silk suture material. Follow up after 10 days.

Description : Dry socket is a condition emerged after extraction due to dislodgement of blood clot at extraction site; which induces healing with proper bone formation. It’s a condition which needs time to heal with appropriate care and regular follow ups.

15 years old boy visited to the opd with non-painful arrested class 1 carious lesion on lower first molar with no other significant problem.

Treatment : Sandwich technique: Lining with type 1 Glass Ionomer cement and then Direct filling composite; resin light cured material.

Description: Caries was glossy and non sticky on probing shows non growing lesion or arrested; its a sign which shows your pulp has retaliated the problem and created a defensive hard layer underneath which is impermeable to bacteria. This is the reason why root canal treatment was deferred. During procedure, the soft caries were removed and cavity was prepared to be filled. Lining of 1.5 mm done using Glass Ionomer Cement type 1 which provide further insulation for pulp and restrict the carious growth if there is any left behind, rest of the tooth structure was filled using composite light cured material. The tooth is good to go 😁
