MAY ALLAH PROTECT EVERYONE AMEEN. SOCIAL DISTANCING IS ONLY RIGHT THING TO DO RIGHT NOW. REMEMBER THIS WILL SPREAD SO STAY AT HOME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYES, NOSE, MOUTH WHILE OUTSIDE AND IMMEDIATELY WASH HANDS (20 SEC) WHEN YOU GET BACK HOME.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus - responsible for the current corona virus pandemic - can live on stainless steel surfaces for up to 72 hours, cardboard for up to 24 hours, and on copper for 4 hours and still be contagious.

Other corona viruses can live on metal, plastic, and glass surfaces for four to five days, and could persist for up to nine days depending on temperature and humidity.

It's unclear how long viruses can live on fabric, but one study found that natural fabrics like wool and cotton are more likely to contain larger amounts of bacteria and fungi compared to silk and synthetic fabrics.

To properly disinfect surfaces make sure you're using alcohol-based cleaners that are at least 70% alcohol for hard surfaces and washing fabrics in water that's at least 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

So you may be wondering: What are the best foods to buy when you know you're going to be stuck at home -- and is it even possible to consume a nutritious diet?

Well, here's some good news: You can make nutrition a priority, and it's something that is all the more important if your immune system may be compromised.

"Though it might look a little different than normal, it's possible to eat healthfully when stuck at home," said Alyssa Pike, a registered dietitian and manager of nutrition communications at the International Food Information Council.

"Choosing shelf-stable foods like canned goods, pastas, rice and legumes and utilizing your freezer -- [where] you can store breads, meats, vegetables, fruits and more -- are great ways to ensure you have a nice variety when your trips to the grocery store are limited."

Below is a list of foods that are not only nutritious but versatile too. They can be eaten solo; combined with other ingredients to assemble mini-meals; or used as the base for several recipes.

Just remember that there's no need to buy out the stock at your local grocery store. "Right now there's no indication that food retailers will be unable to meet the demand of consumers," Pike said, and "it's also important to consider the needs of others and not overbuy."

So only purchase what you actually need -- and these items will last you awhile, which is convenient when you're unable to leave your abode.
Beans and legumes
**************************
Reach for these on your next trip to the store, because they're not only long-lasting but also a great starting point for a nutrient-rich meal. "Beans and legumes are excellent shelf-stable sources of plant protein," Pike said.

Chickpeas or lentils for example, can be mixed with salads and pasta dishes, or used in soups and stews. They can also be used for making homemade hummus, according to culinary nutritionist Jackie Newgent, author of "The Clean & Simple Diabetes Cookbook" and advisor to Lunch Unpacked.
Canned fish
****************
Canned or vacuum-packed protein sources like tuna or salmon are also highly nutritious, and offer a boost of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
Nut butters
**************
These are a great source of protein and healthy fats, and pair well with lots of foods, from crackers and breads to apples and bananas, according to Pike. Sun butter, which is made from sunflower seeds, is appropriate for those with peanut or tree nut allergies.
Whole-wheat and bean pastas, quinoa and brown rice
*********************************************************************
These are the nutrient-rich grains to stock up on, and they can be used as a side dish or mixed with proteins and vegetables.
Steel-cut oats
********************
You can cook oats and add savory toppings like grated cheese, sundried tomatoes or even eggs for a quick, nutrient-rich meal.

And note that while eggs do require refrigeration, they still "have a longer shelf-life than most refrigerated foods and can be very versatile as well," Pike added.
High-fiber cereal
************************
A high-fiber, high-protein dry cereal like Kellogg's Special K protein cereal or Kashi's GO cereal with low-fat milk can also come in handy as a quick mini-meal.
Canned, sugar-free fruits and vegetables
*******************************************************
Stocking up on canned vegetables, canned fruit and applesauce without added sugar is also wise. Be sure to rinse canned vegetables to get rid of extra sodium.

And don't forget canned or jarred tomato-based sauces, Newgent said: "You don't need to make your own sauce, unless you prefer it."
Dried fruit, popcorn and yes, chocolate
***************************************************
Dried fruits like prunes, apricots, raisins, cranberries, figs are a sweet source of iron, fiber and antioxidants. They can be combined with nuts -- including my favorite, omega-3 rich walnuts -- or almonds, cashews, pistachios, peanuts or pecans. Sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds are also a tasty nutritious option, and can be used for DIY trail mixes.

Popcorn is also a great source of fiber, and you can sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top to turn it into a savory snack or add dried fruit or mini chocolate chips for added sweetness.

You can even indulge in a stash of chocolate, though the healthiest kind is dark chocolate, which is rich in anti-aging flavanols.

"It is certainly okay to incorporate a few indulgent foods, like chocolates or other sweets," especially during stressful times, Pike said. "As with any eating occasion, be mindful and check in with your hunger before and after."
Water, shelf-stable milk and coffee
***********************************************
Remember, in addition to stocking up on foods it's important to stay hydrated.

"The general rule of thumb for emergencies is to store at least one gallon of water per person or pet per day and to have a three-day supply handy. However, if you typically drink tap water or have some sort of filter, I wouldn't worry about buying copious amounts of water," Pike said.

Milk is also a good source of calcium and immune-boosting vitamin D, but it doesn't necessarily have to be refrigerated. "Having a shelf-stable milk or plant beverage on hand isn't a bad idea if you don't want to or cannot venture out to the grocery store," Pike explained.

And caffeine counts too. "Consider whether you have enough caffeine to get you through a few weeks," Pike said. "You may need to create your own latte or brew your own pot of coffee if you don't want to or cannot venture to your favorite coffee shop."
What to buy for your freezer:
***************************************
Bread, deli meat and fresh seafood
**********************************************
Remember, fresh foods can be frozen, which will allow you to enjoy them at a later date. "Take full advantage of your freezer, including for foods that freeze well but that you might not typically freeze, such as milk, deli meats and breads," Newgent said.

But dairy products like cheese and yogurt are another story. "Due to texture changes when you freeze yogurt or cheese, I only recommend freezing yogurt if you plan to use it in a recipe, like for a smoothie, and I only recommend freezing shredded cheese that you plan to use in cooking, such as packaged shredded mozzarella," Newgent said. Hard cheese, like Parmesan, can keep in the refrigerator for weeks though, Newgent added.

Additionally, if you already have fresh fish and meat, consider freezing it. "Animal proteins like seafood, poultry, and beef hold well in a freezer -- typically for a few months," Pike said.
Additional fruits and vegetables
*****************************************
Here's some uplifting news: Research has revealed that frozen fruits and vegetables can have just as many vitamins -- and sometimes more -- as compared to fresh.

Frozen strawberries, blueberries and peaches can be used for smoothies, while spinach, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, asparagus and green beans can be used as a solo side dish or mixed with pasta or rice.

Packaged foods help meet the nutrition needs of many of us, including vegetarians, as well as those who have special dietary restrictions.

"For vegans and vegetarians, packaged alternatives are a good option," Pike said, including items such as frozen bean burritos, frozen veggie burgers and frozen veggie pizza.

Whatever you decide to stock up on, remember to keep your food expectations in check. "In the event that we are spending more time at home, remind yourself that every meal doesn't have to be the most exciting. Sometimes the basics really get the job done," Pike said.

But to keep spirits high, particularly if your kids are home from school, you can make indoor dining more of an experience by incorporating a theme to meal time, Newgent suggested. "That may include planning an indoor picnic, or creating DIY 'bars,' like a chili bar, taco or burrito bar, pasta bar, omelet bar, or stuffed baked potato bar," Newgent added.

As Salaam o Alykum and Hi.

Also sharing this friends and family as you never know when you die :-)

Many years back I was teaching in a school and I offered my students that as I am free in break time so if any one want to come to the computer lab and study they are welcome. I will revise what I have taught you in class (I don't believe in tuition or coaching centers if our teachers teach properly there is no need for these centers).

So, slowly they started to come and with in a week there were 110 students who left their break/fun time and came to study.

I even had to ask the principal to install a sound system as there is a limit to my voice :-)

One day while I was teaching an old man who worked in school canteen came to give tea to some other teacher. When he was going back I stopped him and ask the children "Tell me this person is older than you or younger?" they replied Older.

So I ask them then who is going to say Salaam to him?

They all stood up and said As Salaam o Alykum. The old man said Walikum Salaam and left.

Few days later he came to the lab in a free period he sat down and started crying and told me that he was working in the school canteen for last seven years and in all those years not once a student said As Salaam o Alykum to him. And now after that day few of them have started saying Salaam to him.

PROBLEM
***************
As most all of the students came from a rich family they don't consider him as human an older man they should respect. For them he is just a poor worker there to serve them.

SOLUTION
****************
The problem is not our children. The problem are us. We think giving our children good food to eat, great school to go to is enough. NO its not enough.

Same thing teachers are doing they think they are just there to deliver a lecture collect their pay and that is enough.

We should have a moral class in every school and college making them human being making them love and respect others apart from boundaries of religion.

Only then we can be proud of being parents and teachers. And our children will become humans once again.

Training of a child should always start from home.... Now as more and more untrained children are becoming parents the more it is getting worse.

Still if we and generation one step younger than us try hard we can still stop this...

Now parents don't even bother to check children books... What is being taught to the children...

Even Tom and Jerry cartoons are not watchable due to s*x themes...

Please look into your children books... Their mobiles... Their FB... The things they are watching on TV or Internet.

GIVE THEM TIME.........

Take care of them before you loose them... And with them the coming generations...

Thanks for reading.

Regards and Salaam.

As Salaam o Alykum,

I had an idea for many years. Putting it online so if any one wanting to help me in this cause knows about it and also life can end any time and after me this is not lost.

Here goes :
**************

New generation don't have time for older generation so my idea is to give grade 5th till 10th students in schools all over Pakistan a MP 3 voice recorder and as an assignment tell them to sit an hour each day with their Dada, Dadi, Nana, Nani or any older person they have in home and record their life stories as well their life experiences.

This should be given as a project and also marks awarded in final exam for this project.

Benefits :
************

This will bring young generation closer to old generation.

Information stored in older generation minds is not lost as they die but could be safe in huge archive of information which can later be used.

Also old generation has collection of books which they collect in the span of their lives and when they die people in home don't realize the importance of those books and they sell it to local used book seller. We could gather all those books and family wise store them in a library. So, this could be saved as well.

Hope some day ALLAH grant me resources to start this project.

Please note this goes beyond any religion or sect. This is for older generation all over the world.

Thanks for reading :-)

Regards and Salaam.

Syed Tanvir Ali.

Kindly share for cancer patients (with translation)
Five months back my paternal uncle was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. We took him to Shaukat Khanam hospital in Peshawar but they refused on age grounds.
Then we admitted him a government hospital but his condition got worse day by day.
Someone told us about a herbal medicine practitioner in a mountainous region Shangla Martong near Mardan Peshawar. When we reach there we were surprised to see people from far away places who came for the medicine.
Hakeem sahib only gave 7 day medicine and told us that only return for more medicine if this medicine improves the patient condition, if not then do not return.
We ask what does it mean, he said if the report of patient comes good or if there is patient feel relief in pain.
We reach for our pocket to pay him, but he said this medicine is free and only pay for it if you come back for rest of the medicine.
We came back and started the medicine only in four days uncle feel relief and once more we had to go for the medicine (this place is in Shangla but if you're coming from Mardaan come from Buneer as that way is easy).
For forty days medicine he only charge Rs. 4000 ( 26 dollars).
Now the situation is that test done 3 days back there is no sign of cancer remains. There is no cure of death but if there is chance of life give this a try.

ALLAH has given everything to Pakistan as it was created on the name of Islam.
I am a certified Fire Fighter and also have done course in Civil Defense rescue.
Early 2000's I was working on a oil and gas plant in Interior Sind, over the evening tea a plant worker (senior Management level) told us (and others present agreed) that many wells have been deliberately been capped by the company. Pakistan has oil and gas in abundance but they create these shortages to bring in oil and gas from outside and then made money on the deals.......
I wish some one in the govt. will take notice of this and uncap those wells to give us oil and gas in lower prices and without shortages....
i.e if they think of us........then their personal bank accounts....
