It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Prof. Dr. Ejaz Vohra , a visionary leader and Founding Board Member of the Health Research Advisory Board. His tireless contributions to the advancement of medicine and health research and his unwavering dedication to improving healthcare have left an indelible mark on our country.

Prof. Dr. Vohra was not only an esteemed academic expert in his field, but also a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration to many. His passion for knowledge and his commitment to nurturing future generations of health professionals will continue to inspire us all.

We are delighted to announce that Health Research Advisory Board (HealthRAB) has signed an MoU with Minerva Research Solutions on 6th January 2025! 🤝
The MoU was signed by Prof. Zakiuddin Ahmed, General Secretary HealthRAB & Dr. Mazhar Jaffry, Founder of Minerva, in the honorary presence of Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed, Director Business Development & Operations, Minerva and Marium Habib General Manager HealthRAB.

Minerva, a renowned leader in clinical trial operations and management, excels in biostatistical analysis, patient recruitment, clinical data management, and site selection. Their expertise ensures high-quality data is gathered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Through this partnership, Minerva Research Solutions and HealthRAB will collaborate to develop and establish clinical trials and research sites at health institutions across Pakistan. This marks a pivotal step in advancing healthcare research and promoting evidence-based solutions for a healthier future.

On September 3, 2024, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre conducted a session on "Development of Research Ecosystem", led by
Prof. Dr. Iqbal Afridi, Distinguished National Professor (DNP) and a Board Member of HealthRAB. During this session, Prof. Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed, General Secretary of HealthRAB, gave an overview of HealthRAB along with its projects and activities to the audience.

This session marks a significant step in a journey that began two years ago when Health Research Advisory Board conducted the workshop titled "Clinical Research in Resource-Constrained Environments" at JPMC. The momentum continued with the signing of an MoU between JPMC and HealthRAB for the establishment of the Clinical Research Center (CRC) at JPMC. This was followed by the organization of Young Researcher Awards for postgraduate residents and students and later the establishment of Clinical Research Center at JPMC.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Iqbal Afridi for his unwavering dedication to the Clinical Research Centre and for making this collaboration a reality.

Alhamdulillah, we are thrilled to announce that HealthRAB has received certification from the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (P*P) for demonstrating excellence and leadership as per NPO evaluation standards notified by FBR.
P*P is an organization dedicated to strengthening non-profit organizations for social good in Pakistan.
This certification is valid for the next 3 years and is a testament to our commitment to promote health research. With this certification, we are more empowered to drive forward our mission to advance the health research ecosystem in Pakistan, InshAllah. We are grateful for this recognition and look forward to furthering our efforts in creating a healthier, more informed society.

The 5th International Medical Research Conference was successfully organised by HealthRAB on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Health Services Academy, Islamabad. The theme of this year's conference was “Health Systems Research: From Research to Policy & Implementation”. The event was attended by more than 500 Senior Clinicians, Researchers, and Students. This event marks another significant step towards promoting a culture of health research in Pakistan.
