Hi, just a short update from Vienna, European congress of radiology. BrainScan company is here with others. Each day we have a lot of meetings, interesting discussions - here where the heart of radiology bit so loudly. Together with our friends from AI companies we try to find partners and clients. In the end - all the AI systems help to save the patients lives.

[How does the BrainScan system work? 🖥 ] The best way to describe it is through three steps.

The first is the examination itself. During it, a series of images is sent from the device as a DICOM file to the PACS server. The script filters all brain CT imaging studies, then anonymizes them and sends them to the BrainScan cloud.

The second stage is the analysis of the study, during which artificial intelligence-supported algorithms automatically analyze the study for abnormalities. It is then saved graphically as another series in the study in the form of a DICOM file.

The third and final stage, and the most important from the patient's point of view, is receiving the result. In graphical form (an additional series saved in the DICOM file) and text form (JSON file), it returns to the PACS server from which it was sent. From then on, doctors can open the result in graphical form in a browser at any time.

Brainscan CEO Szymon Korzekwa this week defended his PhD in medical and health sciences, in the discipline of medical sciences at the K. Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznan, the title of the work: Quantitative analysis of human facial skin thickness using high-frequency ultrasonography. 🥳

[AI in medicine 🧠 ] Higher neuro reading volume leads to more diagnostic errors. "Medical errors can result in significant morbidity and mortality," wrote a team led by Dr. Vladimir Ivanovic of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. They also pointed out that "Diagnostic errors boost healthcare costs and prompt 75% of radiology malpractice suits".

These mistakes tend to be classified as either interpretive or perceptual. According to Ivanovic and his team, perception errors are more common: They account for 40% to 80% of diagnostic mistakes.

We were congratulated after the announcement of the Eagle of Innovation by "Rzeczpospolita" award, and our CEO Szymon Korzekwa became an expert at "Akademia Menedżerów e-Zdrowia" and will present the topic "the use of AI in imaging diagnostics."

A lot has happened, but even more ahead of us!

[AI in medicine 🧠] Artificial intelligence in medicine aims to support the work of medics in order to save the lives of many people. We want to share with you the results of research and tests that have been carried out in this area for years all over the world. We believe we can do more together!

Today we would like to share with you the information that AI is increasingly used in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. So far, it might take a neurology team a few months - even a year - to issue a definitive Alzheimer's diagnosis. It's definitely too long! The earlier someone receives an Alzheimer's diagnosis, the more time they have to plan with their family and doctors.

Recently, scientists have published a new study in Communications Medicine showing the potential of a computer model to detect Alzheimer's disease with higher or comparable accuracy to previous models. This model however, doesn’t require any previous information about the patient, basing predictions off of a single scan!

We are happy about it and look forward to the further development of AI in medicine, in which we as Brainscan also help.

[awards] 🏆Yesterday we met the winners of the Orzeł Innowacji by "Rzeczpospolita”. In the category: the best technological solution, our company received a distinction for the BrainScan system - automatically detecting and locating pathological changes of the brain visible in computed tomography.

The AI industry is growing incredibly fast. New, promising projects appear every day. Today another # hotnews. AMIGO - research project as part of King's College London, UK, used diffusion models to generate 3D MRI images of the brain conditioned by several covariates and provide 100,000 synthetic brains! This is amazing information, congratulations!
